  1. My first thought is: Bend at the hips, less knee bend. Second: Look at the ball, helps keep a steady head and everything rotates around it. that's it for now anyway.
  2. Big shout out to @Lihu . First check the date on this post. 12/12/14 Then about three weeks ago, I sez, hey maybe a stronger grip ? It has helped. No, nothing wrong here, spudhead !!! For all of you who say "check the fundamentals", thank you and just keep repeating it, eventually maybe it will sink in for me. edit 4:16 by brian
  3. Welcome Todd, there is a whole lot of good stuff on this site, so pick a topic and jump in. Brian
  4. Done. Best forum for golf EVER, thanks to everyone.
  5. Welcome, As a high HC I have and am still learning a lot about golf and believe you have found a great place to help with your obsession. There is so much to learn and participate in on this site, so many better players willing to share their expertise and stories. So take a deep breath and jump in. Brian
  6. Love your sense of humor, how much snow did you get? Get ye to a range, shape some balls. Brian Edit by Brian
  7. I have four hybrids: 14*, 15.5*, 17*, 19* I hit my 3 wood pretty consistent, longer than the 14*, but wanted to get some numbers on all of them, so took out the 3 wood. Needless to say, the 3 wood is going to stay in the bag for the distance. Also use 3-SW. Hit them all pretty well but need to gain distance with them. LW isn't in the bag, don't use it enough. Use what you can, work on what you need. With some lessons, over the winter, my swing is in flux. So to answer your question, yes and no. Hope this helps, lol Brian edit by Brian
  8. Okay, A place to start: 1. Head down, looking at the ball, should help posture. 2. Point toes out, helps with turn rates and weight transfer. 3. check grip, pulls are a face problem, not his, he looks normal. weaker grip opens club face, straighter even a push. Brian edit by Brian 11:35
  9. I've only got good things to say about the staff at game golf. They were fast courteous and straightened out my indiscretions. On the first tee, there were players on the fairway waving us through. So we felt rushed, and I proceeded to skip tags. They weren't as slow as they thought they were and were behind us on the second. So we felt rushed on the second hole. By the third we'd put some distance between us and settled down, but by then I screwed up my tagging, had to contact GG via e-mail. They fixed my problem and I am pleased to say, happy with GG. edited for spelling
  10. Just stopped by Game Golf to look at my rounds. Noticed (don't know how long it's been there but) the temp, wind speed and direction was at the top, next to the date and course name.
  11. LMAO I've seen some strange things, but that takes the cake.
  12. I'd probably go with running a video of the training facility in Erie. A couple students putting, working slow, half and quarter swings. Maybe at an outdoor driving range? Anything golf related, and don't forget the stats, for pros and amateurs. The teaching staff, pictures, names and bio's? Might be too busy visually? The names of the countries the book has been sold in? I do like this picture.
  13. I had to laugh, I would tag the driver when I get to the tee box, tag during my preshot routine, tag as I'm walking off the tee box, then have to stop and think if I tagged after I've walked to my ball. I just kill myself. But I am getting better.
  14. Okay, 1st-Driver-senior tees-I hit a 180 yard drive once, to right side of fairway, more than likely behind the large clump of trees on the right 2nd-aim for the large clump of trees on the left, 3 wood, fades to the right side of the fairway, right rough possibly across the cart path into the small clump of trees 3rd-Punch out from under the trees, 4-5-or 6 iron depending on the distance to the green, short of the green and BAM, I'm in the fairway 4th-bump and run, comes up short of the hole but I'm on the green 5th-6th- two putt for bogey, smiling cause it could be worse

    Live vs TV

Mortician's nightmare? lol Hot toddie, 60" TV and nobody to interrupt, try to maneuver around. I'm sure it would be very exciting to go to a live event, never been, just too many people, crowds. Idiots yelling"in the hole" For those of you who have been to a live event, is there always that one person yelling, on the cell phone?

    Live vs TV

I prefer TV. Except for the commercials, you can turn down the volume, with a warm drink and a cold body beside you. lol See a lot of the actions, reactions, with a closer view. The camera is always following somebody.
  17. I cut the cord a couple years ago. Had dishnetwork for the golf channel. Ran about $70 a month. Have Hulu Plus and Netflix now and OTA antenna, enjoying the savings but missing the golf. Brian
  18. Welcome, congratulations on retirement, looking forward to doing that some day. There are reviews of hybrids in the equipment reviews thread. There are alot of good players who use hybrids, they make the game easier. Brian
  19. On the subject of the tags coming loose: I used a small piece of sand paper to get a firm grip on the tags, when putting them in the grips. Check them everytime I pull or replace a club, try to turn them. Only used them three or four rounds. None have been lost, fallen out. On the subject of tagging clubs before strokes: It's not become a part of my routine yet, I forget if I tagged or not, find double tags, but it's okay because you can delete double tags. and if you forgot to tag, Gamegolf will tell you of a missing stroke, due to body motion (I'm assuming this, don't know how it really works). Truly the only problem I have is my scores Hope this helps. Brian Edit
  20. I've used @RockBottomGolf .com, was pleased with their service, don't know what the shipping would be to NZ but you could check it out. Brian
  21. Accidentally or not, very nice. No more vacations lol. edit: vacations are good, breaks from golf, not so good.
  22. @Lihu Lookin' good. Well done and only one lesson, I'm sure you put in a lot of time, congratulations.
