My hottest start was probably the first 4 holes in my tournament yesterday. Was pouring down rain and managed to start par, par, birdie, par. My first hole was a 280 ish yard par 4 where you can either hit a iron off to the fairway or try to carry it to the green and the 3 kids in my group had already hit their irons and they told me to hit and I told them I was going for the green and I was going to wait since there was a group in front of us. The kids were like whatever so I tee it up and I crush one at the green and it landed 3 feet from my schools #1 player and rolls out to about 15 feet, I proceeded to 3 putt though

First and only time I have broke 80 the back nine, I am a consistent low to mid 80's player and this fall was playing one of my two home courses and I shot a usual 42 on the front and at the end of the day I shot a 78. Shot an even back nine with one bogey and one birdie and I didn't even realize what I had done until I counted it up after, I was hitting the ball well and I hit 8 of the 9 greens and had barely realized it until I counted up my score and it said I had shot even!

Basically I only have a pitching wedge, gap wedge, and a super old 56 degree vokey that is now banned for high school tournaments and need a new wedge set I don't have money to get fitted for wedges but I think I have enough to buy some decent ones/used ones and we have a nice 2 week break after next Monday Currently hit my pitching wedge 140-150, gap wedge 130 ish, and my 56 I use for anything under 125 Basically I kind of want to replace my taylormade rsi2 gap wedge and my 56 degree for a real full set of 3 wedges but I am not sure which/what degrees

Haven't been on here for a while but first high school golf tournament of the season and shot a 83 (Par 72, raining and 6700 yards) 39-44 and I hit 3 drives into hazards and took a 9 on a par 5 so pretty happy with the round but hope to be in the 70's shortly Much better then my tournament best of last year though which was a 97!

Was not nervous at all for my first tournament earlier this year but in my second tournament I shanked my drive OB and since then I get nervous for the first shot if I am playing with kids from other schools that I don't know. However, after that first shot I am not nervous and when playing casual rounds I have never felt nervous other then the first time that I was about to shoot in the 70's

Highly doubt that is Wake Forest's practice regimen since I saw their top player, Will Zalatoris, last week at the Spirit invitational and even his warm ups were more thorough and productive then that.

Pin in the back/lots of water or other hazards around the green= pitching wedge Pin in the front a knock down 9 Also depends if I'm trying to hit a draw/cut

Meh it doesn't do anything for the game but only time I ever laughed really by someone yelling was the whole mashed potatoes one. No idea why but I just found that hilarious.

When I can play a friend at even and only lose a few bucks and my other friend I can play at half a stroke and lose a few bucks. Used to need 2 strokes from one and 1 stroke from the other just to not lose more then 5 dollars

Height? Weight? Competitive Experience? Swing video? Also depends on what kind of pro, odds that you make it to the PGA tour are slim to none and thats just the truth, but get to play on some mini tours or something of that nature could happen. Doesn't really matter what people on the internet say it comes down to how well you do and how hard you work, anything can happen but odds are not in your favor. I would suggest reading Paper Tiger and start learning as much as you can about pretty much everything in golf. Also to the people who said there are other jobs in golf can you guys let me know what they are and how well they pay. I am 17 and have one more year until college but trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I am thinking something in the medical field but if I could make decent money doing golf or something in the golf related field that would be sweet.

How much is your golf set worth?

Bought myself a scotty cameron select newport 1.5 the matte black one for 290 bucks today so puts me closer to 2500 -
Just got to 12 about 6-7 months into playing and hoping to be low single digit in the next 6 months!
-
Started with around a 15 handicap and am currently a 12.7! Shot my personal best a 78 today and have had a lot of rounds in the mid 80's lately. Been hiting between 6-12 greens and the last 2 days I hit 10 and 11 fairways so my driver has been there. Need to work on my long iron play, bunker shots, some more putting, and inside 100 yard wedge shots. Hoping to be shooting under 80 almost every round by the end of the summer and hopefully be a single digit but need to keep practicing and playing!

Considering that in January I had just quit baseball, bought my own pair of golf clubs, had never broken 99, and had the shortgame of a 50 handicapper my game has improved dramatically. Shot my first round in the 70's today and I am hoping to be able to shoot around par in tournaments next year!

Shot my lowest round today of 78. Been playing golf for about 6 and half months now and this was my first time breaking 80. Before this I had shot 82 a few weeks back but during my high school season my lowest round was I think like a 95. Hoping to be shooting consistently in the 70's this upcoming year! I actually started off really badly today, started bogey, double two of the easiest holes on the course then I skipped 3-6 and played 7-18 because of how many people were in front of me when I teed off. I shot a 36-42, 36 on the back, I only hit 7 greens and had a total of 9 near greens but my chipping was good. I shot an 86 yesterday and I hit 12 greens so my ball striking has been there the last 2 weeks or so but my short game has been awful. Today was the first time I ever had less then 30 putts! Edit: Course was par 72, 73.4, 7024 yards

The tiger woods nike shirts. I only have like 5 golf shirts, 2 school ones, 2 tiger woods nike ones, and an adidas. The Tiger woods ones are the best by far

What's the Farthest You've Hooked or Sliced a Ball?
Tgb02 replied to Bryan Kasper's topic in Golf Talk
I have a tendency to come over the top and probably around once or twice a round I hit a 40-80 yard slice but there is a course I play that from the tips is 440 yards but its a legit dog right so hard but you can take it over the trees so I aim at the last tree on the right and swing as hard as I can and usually I hit a pretty big slice over 100+ yards and it works out on the hole -
Haven't posted in here for a while but have had 2 lessons since last time and I am hitting the ball really well. I changed my swing up a lot but I started to come over the top and to fix my slice I have been doing the loop swing. Will probably stick with the loop swing for another week or so and then go back to a real swing. Anyone ever had to resort to a loop swing to fix over an over the top/inside swing and how did it work out?

Been playing a bunch recently and have pretty much stayed around a 15 handicap however my ball striking has been incredible lately. Hit 11 greens the other day but had 7 three putts and shot a 86 which was kind of depressing. Also today shot an 87, I eagled (my first ever!) the first hole and then proceeded to bogey every hole. 17 bogies in a row, had about 8 putts inside 6 feet for par and none fell and I only sunk 1 putt outside of 8 feet and it was a 30 ish foot putt for bogey lol Good lately: Ball striking, keeping the ball in play, damage control, with this 100 degree Houston weather I have been smoking the ball, hit a 225 yard 5 iron lay up and for my eagle today I hit 3 wood 7 iron into a 505 yard par 5. Hit the 7 iron to about 6 feet! Bad lately: Short game, averaging like 36 putts or more right now and my up and down percentage is probably like 2%, also my wedges have been struggling, I tend to leave all my wedges out right because I just don't close the clubface Hoping to get these mid to high 80 rounds into the low 80's over the next month by just working on my short game a lot and continuing to hit the ball well.

Taylor Made Burner Golf Balls
Tgb02 replied to jsgolfer's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Thank you so much, for a 17 year old who has to pay for his own golfing stuff this is awesome. -
Would suggest the chrome soft, Snell balls, Taylormade project a, titleist velocity balls are actually decent Also I have never seen anyone talk about them but I found some Taylormade aerobuner golf balls that are like 26 bucks a dozen, 3 piece and I have only ever seen them at target but I played a sleeve of them this week and they felt really nice.

410 yard hole, dog leg left and the usual shot is to just carry the bunker on the left that is like 220 to carry and then have a 100-140 yards in but today I pulled my drive over the trees near the river on the far left and I thought I had gone into the little river so I hit a provisional but then we drive around and there my ball is. I must of just absolutely killed it because I had 54 yards into the green but man I might need to start trying that shot more often on that hole.

Played my home course on Monday from the blue tees the one in front of the tips and shot a 84 which is decent but should of been a lot better. Made some mental mistakes and thinned a couple irons which was surpising. Had too many putts but overall it was a good round and I played fairly quickly with two other guys who were about the same as me which was fun. Didn't play yesterday because my home course had a tournament in the morning and then it began pouring after 1 D: Got a round in this morning before the torrential storms and played one of the best rounds of my life. Shot an 82 from the tips at a course that I call my second home since I play there a lot. Played from the tips and it usually plays around 7000 yards but today the 10 hole which is usually a par 5 was playing as a par 3 so the course played around 6650 yards and par 69. Played by myself today and I played 2 balls on most holes (always took my first score) and played in around 2 hours. Got in trouble on the back nine with my driver some and I only hit 2 greens on the back but I hit 5 greens on the front which was pretty good but I didn't take any of the birdie opportunities which sucked! Feel like I am getting better and I am going to start taking my handicap for real after this week since I am finally starting to play some really good golf!
