  1. That's out of bounds in more ways than one (hope you said "right back at ya")
  2. Send it our way in California - we're "drying" here!
  3. Another funny thing about advice is often (too often) it is free and then, most of the time, it is worth EXACTLY what you paid for it.
  4. Don't get too handsy, especially with a heavy putter. Use firm wrists and rock your shoulders.
  5. Saw this on GC "Playing Lessons". When practicing "feel" for distance - putt towards the fringe of the practice putting green, trying to stop the ball just short. The idea was that if you take the hole or target away and try just for distance control you will develop feel. Hope you find something. Cheers
  6. When asked at his US Open press conf. Tiger said Jack was the greatest (because he has 18 majors). I'm sure in 2 or 3 or 4 years Tiger will eclipse Jack's major record and then the argument should be settled (and I believe that Jack will graciously say that Tiger is the greatest golfer of all time.)
  7. Of course you are.
  8. I think we might have a difference in perception. Dr Slice says "i dont really take a divot when i hit my irons" (I assume if you're a 12 HCP you're not topping the crap out of it?!?) and iacas points out "Tom Watson was a "picker" of the golf ball" so it looks like Dr Slice is a "picker" of the ball also. I know the course I play most has fairways that will get really hard so I tend to pick the ball a bit and when I get to play a course with a little softer fairways I will take a small divot w/ irons.
  9. I think we may have found him.
  10. Hard to take to the course but putt with his eyes closed.
  11. As you can tell by the replies here - the distance will come and with your kind of accuracy you're well on your way to a solid game. Good luck
  12. You Sir are a scallywag (albeit a funny one)
  13. The two above and one arm swings will help with release. Good luck
  14. Wow that's a little harsh. I agree that she hasn't lived up to her winning potential yet and I'm not sure that she was handled well early on (strictly from her games standpoint.) But if anyone thinks that she won't win a major or a tournament in her career they are delusional.
  15. Saw the piece the Today show did yesterday morning. Matt Lauer seemed to be genuinely inspired by him. Hopes & prayers to his family.
  16. Booyah to yah! Now if you've had a hole in one - go over to the "Which is harder shoot under par or hole in one thread and straighten everybody out. Congrats
  17. I think you've got a solution to your problem. If you can't hit your 3 wood from the fairway or tee for crap - Hit the hybrid - it won't be the same distance, it will be farther (if you can hit the hybrid.) In other words, a well struck 16* hybrid will go further than a poorly hit 15* 3 wood every time. Avoid the frustration and work on the 3 wood at the range not on the course. Good luck.
  18. Hey, maybe the Martians will know if plum bobbing really works? Ask em' OK?
  19. Man, you guys sure know how to ruin my plan. I was going to play tomorrow - shoot under par and have a couple of holes in one. Now I know it might not happen P.S. - Still goin' to play though
  20. HSip

    Cheater!!!!!!

    Quit playing with him.
  21. Nope, I can't see contact nor do I think that you should try to. I try to see (visualize) the swing path through the ball but not the millisecond of contact.
  22. When using a driver visualize trying to hit the ball 100 yds. Force yourself to make that swing. You will be shocked how far the ball will go. Good luck
  23. Take some lessons, be patient and have fun. As for "getting under the ball with your irons" - only in a bunker. Congrats for finding golf - It can be a lifelong friend and/or foe.
  24. If you're playing out of medium/heavy rough then putting spin on the ball is going to be pretty difficult. Your best bet is to try to hit a high soft shot - Good luck.
  25. Ask him if he'd like to play through if not then please stand aside.
