  1. I think your first read is your best read but more importantly don't stand over the putt long enough to let doubt creep in.
  2. I'm with you fellas. I think the people who do it think that it must be telling them something but what that is I couldn't say.

    so close....

What he said. You've got to think about the next shot - not what you need to "make" to break 80, 90 or whatever. Good luck
  5. Everything from 6 iron thru SW.
  6. If you hit your 9 iron 140 yds - then there is nothing wrong with your physical abilities (unless it's only 3 ft off the ground.)

    Golf Meltdown

She sounds like "the one who must be obeyed" - ala Mrs. Feherty.
  8. Slow and steady improvement is something you can hang on to. Playing lights out/way better than you have is usually something pretty fleeting (a lot of fun but usually doesn't last long.) Remember that there are a bunch of peaks and valleys between here and there. Good luck
  9. You'll have to trust that the instruction will work. If you can't "let go" of your perception of his game/swing and remember, that you're working on your game/swing, then save your money or find another pro. Good luck
  10. Take a break - you'll be surprised how fast you'll miss this game.
  11. Stretch and then think "nice easy tempo". Then make sure either you or someone more punctual than your friend gets you to the course next time.
  12. Yup - wrong target. About the only thing you're practicing is the old cart path shot where relief would only get you in more trouble. Must make your neighbors wonder though!!!
  13. Somewhere P T Barnum is smiling.
  14. Substitute "putting" & "stroke" respectively - tempo is extremely important for putting as well. It does seem easy when the stars align however infrequently
  15. Wonder if anyone tried to play through?
  16. Skip the Squirt.
  17. For sure. You've only been playing for a short while - soon you'll realize that golf can bring you from the depths of despair to being king of the world in a matter of rounds, holes or for that matter a hole. Just hang on, try to have fun and enjoy the ride. Cheers
  18. Better yes but practice balls can help until you can get to the range again. Remember smooth swing with good tempo. Cheers
  19. 100% Agreed. One thing about the 9 to 3 drill (particularly) is NOT trying to "hit" the ball. When you get over the urge to kill the ball and just concentrate on that motion the ball will start flying in the right direction and much farther than you imagine. Stick with the drills/instruction and hopefully they will stick with you. Good luck
  20. Great advice - but remember that even the "absolute worst player in the world" can get stuck in traffic and miss his/her tee time. If you keep at it and practice, practice, practice, you will get better but it is not a straight line down to a low HCP. Good luck
  21. Swing at 75% - if that doesn't work, swing at 50%. Work up from there (if you have to. Most of us are amazed at how far the ball goes when we swing easy) Good luck
  22. Sometimes we just let things like "a personal best.... etc, etc." get in the way of the real reason to be out there - Having fun. Sounds like with the things going on in your life - golf has gotten side tracked. You're doing the right things - life (and golf) will come around. Enjoy it while we've got it. Cheers & Good Luck
  23. Who's better Jack or Tiger - who knows but Tiger much more skill - No Friggin' Way.
  24. Man you guys are weird. I thought odd numbered balls on M, W & F, even on Tue, Thur & weekends was strange....
  25. He won't be able to afford HD, LD or any other kind of D if he does that
