100%. Currently, it takes me several shots of various progressions to make my brain even trust that it will work. It is so opposite from the feelings I have had for years. And forget about adding any speed at the moment. That is just a recipe to fall back on the old habit

I am going to get this thread going once again. I will get a good current swing video either this week or this weekend. I am working with a local instructor and have been with him for quite some time working on various things. The current issue that seems to have crept back in (and has had me in such a funk lately) is from the top of the back swing, my first move seems to be to pull my hands/butt of the golf club towards the ball. This seems to have been causing the majority of my hosel contact. So he has me working on the first move from the top feeling as though the hands drop down and almost back. The feel I have on my good swing is getting the hands as close to my quads as possible while turning. For the follow through, he wants me to hold the club face off and not allow it to turn over. We have been working to eliminate the early extension and flip that has been a forever issue in my swing. Goal "in his words" is for me to end up hitting a slight pull cut. I hope that makes sense. I will get a video up as soon as I can.

Playing So Bad….just Want to Quit!

Will do. I am in constant contact with him. Almost on a daily basis. Sorry for the thread hijack. I'll move to my swing thread. -
Playing So Bad….just Want to Quit!

I actually know a "GREAT" instructor (albeit quite a distance away) and have access to the best member swing thread...😄. But, yes I am working with an instructor. He is the one that is giving me the drills and up until this last drill, it was really going great. Something about the last drill has gotten me into the worst funk I have experienced in quite some time. I have a couple of ideas that hit me last night that I am going to try over the weekend. If that doesn't seem to resolve the issue, my member thread will for sure get reinstated. I really wish PA was not so far away. I would LOVE to be able to work with you one on one in person with regularity. -
Playing So Bad….just Want to Quit!

I will say, I have been working some drills over the winter to get rid of some swing flaws and I am now in a funk...the worst I have been in for probably 10 years. It has been/is VERY frustrating at the moment. So much so that I do not even want to go play until I figure it out. Having said that, I keep telling myself that I have a good swing and this is just a mental funk (probably over thinking way too much stuff) and that I have got to get out of my own way. I say this to say that I very much sympathize with you but just look for that positive mindset and fight through it. I know I am going to get past this and the drills will have been for the better overall. I just have to be patient and let the storm pass...haha -
I agree with there being many aspects in which you could still be connected to golf IF you weren't able to play. I would try my best to not give up on playing yet though. Give it some time, be as positive as you can be (I know that is easier said than done sometimes), and try not to mentally give up on it.

The increase in most events is nuts. As you say, concert tickets are crazy. Ok seats for 3 at a concert now are going to be 750-1000.00 just for the tickets. Then everything else is overpriced as well. The Ryder Cup would be a cool experience but not enough value for me

Wish I had experience in that area. I'd be interested.

Playing So Bad….just Want to Quit!

Good choice. I have been through the same as well. I think the biggest thing that helped me was just remembering that it is just a game. We do not do this as a profession, so going through these tough spells is just golf for an amateur. I figured out where I needed the most help, hammered those areas and it got better. Just remember how good you used to play. You know you can do it. You have just gotten in a funk. You have the ability to work yourself out of it. -
Maybe it is a small step in that direction. I'll be watching.

Agreed on the pricing. I have been twice in several years. It is just not something that pops in my mind when thinking of hanging out. I can see the causal fan having fun but also not wanting to pay. They are fizzling here as well even though they just recently built a smaller version not far from me

I have a used, like new Shot scope v5. I used it maybe 2 times and quickly figured out that I am not a watch guy when playing so it just stays in a drawer. I think 200.00 is a fair price for the condition. Comes with all sensors and charging cable. I think I threw the box away but I will have to confirm that.

Rejected again. I do not think the number of tickets selected makes a difference because there is a guy at work that applies for all tickets just like I do and he has gotten picked multiple times somehow..

I am actually thinking about trying some of these. I need something more tacky than my multi compound and had these suggested. I'm a sweater... I might try something a little softer than the multi compound as well.

Lexi spoke a little on what they go through while talking about her retirement. It seems to be overlooked many times because they play golf for a living or make all this money or whatever. These athletes, any athletes, are expected to perform at a high level and when they do not, it weighs heavy on them, I'm sure. And then if they ever get caught up in online comments being made (Lexi mentioned this), that just adds to the feelings of failure. Having a support team around to turn to is a huge help, but some may need more than that. It is sad news.

I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.

I follow him on IG. He is VERY solid and has a great temperament for the game.

I agree. We will get it figured out. No worries on my part. -What do you find better about the H4? Just curious. -Is there a phone number to actually speak to someone instead of waiting on emails? Update: Going on the 3rd day now of them telling me they don't see an order for that name and asking me am I sure that is the correct name and email address. I have to admit, I'm getting a little turned off with the email support system. By phone, this likely could have been handled in a matter of a few minutes. Even online chat would be great. This is one of the few times I did not take a picture of the confirmation page. But I sent them a picture of the charge on my credit card. I'll give them this week to resolve it or I'll just dispute the charge and forget about it. Newest update: I ended up speaking with Jamie via Fb yesterday and I believe that is what pushed the resolution but after 3 days, they finally found my order in the system and the package is on the way. Jamie was extremely helpful and I greatly appreciate that.

I contacted support. They do not show an order for me even though the card was charged, so I’ll have to work through that issue.

Where Is Your Next Golf Trip Going to Be?
TN94z replied to Smidd4's topic in Destinations and Travel
In August, I am playing the World Am in Myrtle Beach. I do not know which courses yet, but should be a blast. Aside from that, those are the only golf trip plans, unless I play while on vacation in Destin in June. -
Did you guys get an email confirmation of your order? I was expecting that fairly quickly after the order. I have not received one. I see the charge though. Just checking
-
Ordered today. I am excited to start keeping up with my stats. I've never really done that in the past.

I have been watching his videos since the first one you posted. I have only tried it in the yard so far but it feels really good. I saw another where Rick Shiels had a lesson with him. It explained a lot as well.

Back From Golf Instructor and....
TN94z replied to collegefbfan's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I recently swapped instructors as well. I am actually working on staying down too. But he gave me 2-3 drills and that is all I am focused on. I don't want to add in other things from videos and end up putting a kink in his overall plan. I would just hammer the drills he gave you until you have those down. This way you can go to your next lesson and most likely move on in your progression. Another thing he has me do is at the end of the lesson, I will make a video with my phone of him going through all the drills he wants me to do along with examples of what I was doing wrong and why the drill will help fix those issues. I really like this aspect versus just writing down the drill names. Just a thought. -
That was a great final day. I was glad to see Akshay win it but hate to see a player lose it on such a bad shot like McCarthy did. I cannot wait to see Akshay play Augusta. My son has followed him for a while now.
