I think a triple murderer will be unlikely to ever be released. Just have a look at this piece of shit. "B-Rod" the "rapper". The Thug Life might not end up being that cool.

Not too tough for an experienced golfer like yourself who went into it being pretty sure of shooting within a couple of par in the playing test having followed a highly organised and rigorous program to get there. And 10K. Don't sell yourself short. I know you're being supportive and are simply passing on information, but desire can only get people so far. You got to a point in your game and your interest in teaching the game where it became a logical and organic expression of who you were as a golfer at that time. I am very aware that false modesty has never been your thing, but ......the odds were in your favour for a reason. Planning and pure pragmatism. Those are rare attributes.

Argentina is welcome to him.

I would be very surprised if Cabrera ever shows his face there again. He isn't going to want to be a sideshow and certainly wouldn't be wanting any publicity.
-
I don't mean have a decent amateur career. I mean be a decent amateur player. You don't get poor players passing PATs.

Is SkiGolf a thing?

Well.............are we trying to match a club to a swing or correct a swing?

On grass like that, bounce does absolutely nothing. You're essentially teed up in that location. You could do anything you wanted to on a grinder from 0 degrees of bounce to 30s degree with your wedge and it wouldn't affect what happens on a lie like that. Get yourself to some grass where you have a firmish, tightish lie and then you'll see where you are.

Even a lump of it which isn't frozen can kill.

You need to find your own path. It is not a "job" with a defined path. If you want work, attend interviews and promote yourself. If you want to be a professional, step one is to become a decent amateur first. I know quite a few professionals. Some hardly play at all, others wish they had their amateur status, others are essentially shopkeepers and some have realised that shooting a few under par most of the time is not enough to earn you a cent. Some make a lot of money, or did for a little while. Others couldn't break 70 if their life depended on it. I also know guys who shoot low 60s frequently and know that they couldn't compete on any tour. Some are teachers and, like every job, some enjoy it, some don't appear to. What you could experience has little to do with how someone else feels/felt. All of them got where they ended up by playing the game, being good at it and not speculating about being professional before they could break 100.

Security did a great job. The guy is obviously "ill" and no-one made a huge fuss or jumped him. The players kept their cool. They did the right thing to avoid escalating the problem. You can't assume that everyone has a gun and is out to kill. Otherwise no-one would get within a mile of the players. This is Scotland.

I agree, but there are some crimes that are so abhorrent that they fall outside of that. If a child murderer is jailed for his crime and is then released, he is not welcomed into society by the majority. And obviously, this is an extreme example. For many other crimes they are welcomed back, and deserve to be. Men who assault women are, by definition, awful people and can expect to be shunned by organisations like The Masters, no matter how hypocritical that may seem, given their history

You have to run for 50 minutes to burn off a can of Coke. I often see things on TV where a family is sitting around a dinner table with a large bottle of Coke or similar on the tabl - and this would seem to be a daily thing. Most people who drink soft drinks like that can lose considerable amoubts of weight if ALL THEY DO is switch to diet version (with their own issues) or remove soft drinks from their diet completely. Also, things like muesli bars and most breakfast cereals are the same as Kit Kats and Mars bars - but people think they're "healthy". Likewise fruit "juice". I walk on average 5K a day, not counting golf. I have NEVER associated that exercise with weight loss. And golf is not "exercise" that helps control weight. In all seriousness, the fact that for 4 or 5 hours you're hopefully drinking water and eating nothing else is the greatest health benefit in a physical sense. When I was training on my bike and cycling racing, I ABSOLUTELY did. Weight maintenance is all about restricting calories and having a sensible diet. Anyone who thinks they can eat crap and drink "soda" every day and counteract that with light exercise are always going to struggle with weight. People are always ( and rightfully) criticised for saying insensitive things relating to "no fat people" in certain famine ridden and poor countries and concentration camps, but it's simple biology. If you don't burn what you eat, you are gaining weight every day.

Hypothetically, if a murderer or rapist served their sentence and then wanted to play do you think that that attitude would be reasonable? Those crimes have nothing to do with golf. We're talking about assaulting women, not ignoring parking fines. The "he's served his time" argument only holds up for misdemeanours, not criminal - especially violent - behaviour. Would you employ an ex thug to mind your business? Would you say, "Yeah, he assaulted people but my business has nothing to do with that"?

I know that. My comment was about loft, not CG. If a 7 iron is a 6.25 iron, you're not hitting your 7 iron further. I believe in having clubs that you know go a certain distance. The number on the bottom is immaterial. My current irons have slightly strong lofts which is why I hit them further than my previous ones.

A perspective that some may find interesting (and weird). I was in NZ a couple of years ago - I visit every year at least once - and was driving out of Aoraki Mt Cook, a few kilometres from the village in a totally unpopulated area in the middle of the photo I have attached right where the "80" is. I saw a man walking along the road and into the grass carrying what I guess was a .22 rifle. Many people would see this on a daily basis and think nothing of it, but, coming from a place without gun culture, I thought it was one of the strangest, eeriest things I have ever seen. He was probably licenced to shoot feral animals, but to me it was an almost surreal sight. I only mention this to point out interesting cultural differences amongst friends who in so many areas of life are so similar.

You are just saying this based on stuff you see in advertisements. There has been very little to no real change in technology in the last decade. And none of that has benefitted good players. Most top level players use irons that are indistinguishable from what they played twenty years ago. All that is happening is that manufacturers keep putting out irons that help poor players get the ball in the air and then lying about increased distance - as if that means anything. Hit your 150 yard club, whatever that is. Who cares if it's a 6 iron or a 7 iron? Please give us a justification for the statement above in bold. What on earth is the "accuracy that modern irons offer"?

Natural 29, low air density. 26 air density. OK.

Keeping a straight face whilst doing it would be the challenge.

No quality wedges are more "consistent" or "predictable" than others. I seriously doubt that Vokeys are unpredictable or inconsistent. It comes down to what you like. Some like the look of Mizuno wedges. Others are used to Cleveland or Vokey. It's about YOU, not the wedges. What is important is that you have bounce that suits your course.

The bottom line is that a person could conceivably pick up the game at 60 and be able to play, in the same way they can start fishing at the same age. The same cannot be said for football or hockey. They are not saying that John Rahm is less athletic and less of a "sportsman" than a fencer or recreational skiier. As for cheerleading one step behind, if you saw Netflix's "Cheer", you would laugh at the idea of golf being easier than competitive cheering. Unless you live in Russia, Canada or the U.S.A., you actually do. Hockey is actually what you call "Field Hockey". "Ice Hockey differentiates it. There is really no need for the term "Field Hockey". But I get that in your country it is assumed. It isn't in India, Pakistan, England, New Zealand or Australia.
