  1. I've been walking for a couple of years now, first starting out with push / pull carts and found that my back hurt after every round. Since I dumped the carts and started carrying my back problems went away. You just need to make sure your carry bag is high enough on your back so that it doesn't bounce and the pain should subside.
  2. What you want to ensure is that you are buying them from an Authorized Dealer. Ebay and such are all considered resellers and therefor do not a factory warranty. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  3. I agree that taking your wife along has to be one of the worst ideas ever. Next you're going to tell us that you really do enjoy going shopping with her and pick up tampons for her at the supermarket. I'm sure your wife is a very lovely person but the point behind playing golf is to be part of a community of golfers (much like this forum). By taking your wife you are alienating yourself from that community. Get out there as a single, make some new friends and enjoy the camaraderie of those around you. To me it sounds like your wife is your comfort blanket... you have got to let that go.
  4. For us at DeBell Golf Club it would have to be #10 which plays roughly 400 yards uphill to a pretty small green. Lateral hazard all along the right and OB left. http://www.debellgolf.com/10.htm For handicapping purposes it's actually #8 which is a pretty short par 5 but there is OB left and a giant mountain on the right which eats balls. Hit the ball too far or too straight and you can easily end up OB since the fairway slopes left pretty dramatically. Hit a cut and you end up along the mountainside with absolutely no shot at the green. Then there is the green which slopes severely back to front and right to left. Go long and it's an automatic bogey or worse. http://www.debellgolf.com/8.htm

  6. Awesome looking shoes! I like the white much more than the black but can see where each would have its place in my locker.
  7. I play the Pro Black which I think feels much better off the face than the 909H. The 909 to me felt and sounded like an aluminum bat whereas the Pro Black gives you that nice solid feel / sound. Definitely not a club for those that have a hard time getting the ball up in the air and if you miss it, you'll know it instantly. The Pro Black has a very small "sweet spot" whereas the 909H is hot all over the face. Really depends on your game though... I like the Pro Black because it sets up much more like an iron would than the 909H.
  8. Thanks guys, I'll give that a shot this weekend... or maybe today after work if I can get out.
  9. My miss is typically a hook on downhill shots and I don't think I lift my left foot but for all I know it could be. I knew about taking less club and typically estimate about one less club per 10 feet of downward elevation change. It's just getting that darn ball to fly straight! Aaarrgggg.
  10. 2nd shot 198 yard draw around some trees to two feet on a par five... worst shot... missed the eagle putt.
  11. That is so awesome! So jealous!
  12. I'm having a real tough time keeping the ball flying straight on downhill shots. Any tips out there?
  13. Say bye-bye to golf! My wife and I had a son two years ago and she went from playing 4 rounds a month to 4 rounds a year. I on the other hand have continued to play every Saturday and Sunday with the exception of birthday parties, major holidays and anniversaries.
  14. I was outbid at $1,700...
  15. How about letting us know where the ball ended up and then I'll tell you what I think of your downswing.
  16. I like Boom Boom and a young gun like Sean O'Hair, Rory or AK.

  18. I would choose the Cameron, sell it and then keep the money. If you want a new putter get a YES! putter... simply the best.
  19. Like Gebus I've gone out and played with a single iron but in my case it was an 8 iron. I have also played numerous rounds with only 7 or 8 clubs in the bag leaving out all woods just for the heck of it. Honestly, take a look at your next round and see how many clubs you DON'T use. Next time you play try taking them out of the bag completely and see what happens. I find that I actually play better with fewer clubs.
  20. If you still have it, I'll take it off your hands.
  21. I turn my back towards the direction from which fore was yelled. Thankfully I've never been hit.
  22. Join your local golf course men's club... you'll soon find out who the best teacher at that club is just by talking to the guys in the club. Go see that person. Don't worry about trying to find the best person in the state. If you haven't ever had a lesson you don't need a top 1,000 in America teacher. Just learn the fundamentals which all golf instructors know.
  23. I've heard similar stories about golf pros that say, "the worst way to play more golf is to work at a golf course". Seriously, how often do you see the current crop of guys at your golf shop playing? Probably not that often compared to the regulars that are out there every day because they have jobs which either have weird hours or no jobs at all. Your best bet to play more golf for free is to offer to be a marshal at the course one day per week and see what they say.
  24. Fix all ball marks on the green regardless of who made them. It's just polite and guess what... I doubt you'll run into that problem again any time soon. I've been playing for many years now in a multitude of tournaments and I can't even remember a time when my pitch mark were in someone's line. The odds are just so against you leaving a mark in someone's line I wouldn't worry about it.
