  1. From 25'.. What can you do but laugh? I went 4 rounds a couple weeks ago without a 3 putt and have been really rolling the ball well but on the front today I had 22 putts and on the back 17. At least it got better but all I can do right now is giggle

    Boo Weekley

I like when he scared the bejesus out of Anthony Kim with that turtle. Weekley is a riot
  3. Ditto.. man it's a pain
  4. Buy the wifey some clubs and hit the links
  5. I practice 2 or 3 times a week and play at least twice. I'm working hard at it and am doing the drills etc and trying to trust it but to be honest with you I don't have a damn clue where the ball is going anymore. Draw one second, fade the next, slice the next and hook I used to come over the top a touch and hit a nice fade back. and when I missed it just went straight
  6. I'm not trying to discount taking lessons. Lord knows my swing needs work but I've been working with a coach for over 2 months and I'm 10 strokes worse now that when I started with lessons. I signed up to hopefully get a little more consistent but it's gotten worse. A LOT worse. I"m working hard at it, trying to get it down and not giving up on it but it's hard after 10 weeks to be striking the ball more inconsistently than when I started Should I find a new coach?
  7. I too have hit a tree off the tee box and had the ball bounce back to my feet Funniest was a par 3 back in high school. I had a wicked slice back then and as usual the ball went right and drilled a tree. Careened over a bunker and rolled to about 3' from the hole
  8. Just use linux and all your problems are solved
  9. I haven't play a whole round with one club but if I was hitting bad off the tee I have kept hitting shorter irons until I got one in the fairway and then hit that club. it's gotten down to a 6 before and that includes laying up on par 3's.. lol Funny thing is. From the fairway I rarely make worse than bogey and par quite a bit even with a 6 iron off the tee
  10. Orange dots on each side of a Taylormade #11 ball
  11. It doesn't? I pretty much try to act the same everywhere I go. Bitching and moaning on a forum doesn't make me think that any person would be any different "in real life". I could be wrong. Saving grace is I don't pre-screen my playing partners and typically play as a single so I get matched up with all different kinds of folks. Everyone has pet peeves, I get it. But worrying about it for 18 holes or after the fact isn't going to make it any better When I'm through playing I'm worried about me. What did *I* do wrong that round that I can correct. Not Joe Schmo high handicapper walked in my line and caused me to miss my 39' birdie putt
  12. I've never noticed what other folks use really unless something in the bag catches my eye (i.e. funny headcover or something)
  13. Playing with some of you folks would be about as much fun as a trip to the proctologist.
  14. Congrats!! I'm looking forward to starting my "real" handicap this week
  15. Playing well. If I'm hitting it well the scoring will come
  16. I just want pretty much the same thing every time. I don't swing hard or make an effort to hit the ball hard. I just try and swing smooth and whatever happens, happens. I tend to hit it a little farther than my playing partners most of the time But just a little story. Played a quick nine as a single with a nice fellow at the club the other day. Tall left handed guy with a good swing. Didn't hit it very far but you could tell when he wanted to bend it right, he did and left, he did. I hit my 4 iron farther than he hit his driver, but he hit is driver straighter than I hit 4 iron (this is my certain to keep it in the fairway club). Finished the nine, he shot 37 (only b/c of a double on 8). I shot 41 Distance ain't everything
  17. It'll all come down to shortgame (putting). They'll have more GIR's than a typical tour stop but I doubt your local muni greens are going to roll like your typical tour stop green.
  18. Do you come over top of the ball? or pull/slice it? If you swing from the inside and release early you're going to hit the ground way before the ball unless you raise up. A Good swing and lag kinda comes with it. Not something I've ever been worried about
  19. I think 54 is giving them a little too much Typical par 72 from 6500 yds.. I'd go between 60 and 64
  20. Maybe I'm missing out but i don't really watch golf on TV and even consider it affecting my swing. I just enjoy watching them knock the tar out of the ball and get it in the hole
  21. Nope. Watch them all. Proves that you don't have to swing the exact same way to be successful.
  22. Load a video of your swing in a video editing program and then once the backswing starts just move it frame by frame and count I use a linux system so the program I use probably won't help
  23. Was in the bookstore this afternoon and bought Tour Tempo. Gave it a quick read this afternoon and started the drills. Doing the pre-shot 27/9 was WAY too slow. I was already getting to impact when the 2nd beep went off. Went to 24/8 and was still a touch faster than that. 21/7 was good but according to the book I shouldn't be that fast already. I'm going to time the swing videos I have and see what my downswing to impact # of frames is And after checking 3 swings from my last lesson, in terms of frames Swing 1 - 22/7 Swing 2 - 22/7 Swing 3 - 22/8 Suppose I already have the fast tempo, just need the tour accuracy now.. LOL
  24. No doubt... What's worse?? The golfer that plays from the tips with a 20+ Handicap or the golfer that bitches about it for the next 3 days
  25. Balls, Tees, Divot Repair, Ball Markers, Bag (for watch, wedding ring, wallet, phone, keys), Extra Spikes, spike wrench, 4 or 5 gloves, alignment sticks, rain cover, umbrella, sunscreen, athletic tape, groove cleaner, Range Finder, aleve.. I think that's it..
