  1. The big, old-school tour visors are stylin' for sure. Especially the PING (like Bubba), the black Titleist (like Faxon) or a Mizuno (think Sandy Lyle, not Luke Donald). The new smaller visors are lame. Also, anything made by Taylormade Adidas Golf is by definition the opposite of "Stylin". In fact, it's the anti-style.
  2. You are letting the right hand dominate your swing. I like this tip: and I'd add that you want to feel the left arm in the downswing. If you are right handed, then it's like hitting a one-handed backhand in tennis. Back of the left wrist out in front at impact.
  3. 3 - 200 21* 4 - 190 24* 5 - 180 27* 6 - 165 31* 7 - 155 35* 8 - 145 39* 9 - 135 43* P - 125 47* Mizuno lofts are 1* strong of standard. 10 yard gap between irons with a larger gap between 5 and 6.
  4. False. Golf is Golf. No one is above the game, not Jack, not Eldrick, no one. Edit: Did not vote. "Good" is subjective.
  5. Today I bought a set of Mizuno MP-68's. So stoked. I also ordered a net and range mat for the garage as a Xmas gift to my folks (hehe =)~).
  6. I'd bet that Golf Pride makes the PING Man and Dancing Cameron grips to order.
  7. A Canadian pitying us. How ironic.
  8. I LOL'ed. Well played OP. =)
  9. It's not that the hips and shoulders are out of sync, it's that everything is in sync, but turning too quick - thus delivering a closed clubface. Try widening your stance to the point where you can fit two range buckets between them. It's almost impossible to pull a ball that way without coming over the top. EDIT: The OP is talking about widening his stance to promote a more U Shaped swing (rather than a V-shape) in order to hit less fat shots. Instead of widening the stance, I'd recommend practicing ball-first contact with a descending blow in your standard stance. I don't think changing the stance is the best way to get "less fat shots".
  10. Widen the stance to reduce the amount of hip turn. If you are pull hooking it, widening the stance can be a quick fix.
  11. That's really hard to believe. Have you ever been on a launch monitor? At that swing speed you should be getting it out a bit further than that IMO. If you are swinging that fast and only going 250, your ball speed is slacking because you are hitting it off-center. Slowing things down might help with both the distance and direction.
  12. The 907 D2 with that shaft is a fine purchase. ::thumbs up::

    Mini Tour Play

Great thread and best of luck to you. The warmup pic of you at the top of your swing looks pro. :thumbs up:
  14. Word on the street is that the Project X's fly lower than the TT Dynamic Gold S300's. Both of those shafts are very popular ATM. I'm willing to bet he's making ball-first contact and you are not.
  15. Apology accepted. It's their own prerogative Jackass.
  16. Picking it up is chicken-shit and great way to start a fight if you wanted one. The stomp or verbal altercation are fine usually work. Hitting it back is funny but then makes you the jackass.
  17. I agree he mailed it in and the performance was a disappointment to fans and tournament organizers. .... *Cough* Two Majors *Cough* :P

    no glove?

I take the glove off when putting but for all other situations it's on. Jack putted with a glove. I hear of people using two gloves. Matter of personal preference/comfort/feel IMO.
  19. 100% agreed. This is a brag thread. Anyone near him want to get paid? LOL.
  20. Fine rant. I agree - unsolicited advice...hasn't that been going on for long enough that people know it's not cool? One time a guy I was playing with was having swing trouble and he looks at me like, "Man, what am I doing wrong?" I go, "Ok, since you asked, and normally I know not to say anything...you're swinging with your arms only...etc." It passes on the idea that you won't say anything unless they ask. The reason I don't want unsolicited advice from players, even "better" players, is that I don't want their advice to dominate/determine my destiny that round. Play your own game.
  21. All Black. Footjoy. Classic look. You can wear them with everything, and they are light and comfortable.
  22. I hate hard-packed sand too. A course I usually play at lets the sprinklers hit the bunkers which don't have enough sand in them to begin with...it creates a much more difficult shot than your standard bunker shot. I usually take the 56 or 60 depending on distance to hole and height of lip, activate the bounce, open stance, aim left of pin, and play it like a standard bunker shot but with one exception - I don't swing as hard. Maybe a "digger" technique with a wedge would work better but a hybrid would warrant lulz from playing partners for sure...I can't see a hybrid being ok there...too wood-like and bunkers don't like woods. Ninja Edit: I'm assuming green side bunkers because you mention getting up-and-down.
