Yikes! But I can relate to missing short putts when it counts.

This proves he's an idiot and not a "scientist". Just enough information to be dangerous to himself and to others. Just because you are young does not guarantee you will be fine. He just happened to be one of the lucky ones.

I knew the Delta variant would be taking over most of the COVID cases when it was first identified. So I kept on wearing a mask even after I got vaccinated. Some people asked me why I was wearing a mask even after being fully vaccinated. I told them that vaccine is not 100% guarantee and there were too many people that are not vaccinated and walking around without a mask. Now, while the Lambda variant has not taken roots here yet, that is another variant that may cause another surge.

As you said, just because you are vaccinated doesn't mean you are guaranteed not to get infected. And you have no idea who is and isn't vaccinated. So I wear a mask whenever I go indoors in public places, restaurants, shopping, banks, etc.

IMHO, a more appropriate question to ask is "Should Louis have aimed for a bunker on the right on the 17th hole?" It was nuts trying to even flirt with that hazard on the 17th hole.

WTF??? Where did my swing go? I could not hit a side of a barn today. Nothing was working. Wow!!! I hope it was only a fluke and not start of a slump. Shot 98 (70.9/137, 6500 yds).

It was downright hot. Really hard to focus when temp is around 100 *F. I don't care how dry heat it is. 83 (72.1/135, 6808 yds). Putting was a bit off as I had 5 lip-outs. But all-in-all much better than Monday.

Sunday 73 (70.7/135, 6500 yds). Monday 91 (71.2/136, 6600 yds). This is insane. No rhyme or reason for such a whipsaw difference, except I just plain sucked on Monday.

Odds are against any single player. Even in Woods in his prime, the odds were against him. Phil peaked too early by winning the PGA. /s

I think that is typical in Asian countries. I travel for business to Korea and Japan (not lately, of course), and entertain clients by treating them to a round of golf ($$$$). They always stop at the nine to eat a full meal. Here in the U.S., if you stop, you lose your place in line unless there is a backup. Personally, I don't like to rest after nine. Takes me out of my rhythm.
-
I would never play with a person like that nor would I even have any contact with that person outside of golf.

Man, that sucks! Eating is one of the joys of life. On the other hand, one can easily stick to their healthy diet. /s But seriously, it must be a terrible thing not being able to taste or smell.

On the other hand, Saso's caddy did a great job keeping her focused. Even after two doubles on in the beginning, he told her there are lots of holes left and just trust the process. Now that is a caddy who has earned his keep - and then some!!! From now on, when I have a bad score, I will blame not having a caddy on my side.
-
Are you sure that is the reason? I like to play with anyone as long as they are not slow. I have one friend I used to play with a lot. He is about 18 handicap. But that fact didn't bother me. It was his slow play. We would get reprimanded by marshals (when they actually enforce to pace of play), and after a few times of telling him we need to keep up with the group in front, I just stopped playing with him.

IMHO, new players that took up this game due to COVID don't know the etiquette of fixing their own ball mark. In addition, you have regular players who are lazy and don't fix their own ball marks. I noticed more ball marks on the green than pre-COVID rounds (or it's because more rounds are being played due to increased number of players). Personally, I always fix mine plus any others that i see on the green. Heck, I will be playing the course again soon so I want to course to be in good condition when I return.

China reports human case of H10N3 bird flu, a possible first BEIJING (AP) — A man in eastern China has contracted what might be the world’s first human case of the H10N3 strain of bird flu, but the risk of... Ugh. This is not good. They better get this under control before it starts another pandemic. With flu, any vaccine will not be as effective as COVID vaccine.

My thanks to those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Very humbling day.

Looking forward to watching this week!!!

I think it's safe to say, we've all been there. Had one of the best rounds on Friday. Then on Saturday feeling good about my swing, I played first 18 at 11 over. Not too bad. Then in the afternoon, on the back nine my swing was gone. I think I was tired and was not focusing as much as I should. It was a disaster back nine. Everything was thinned. Missing all my shots by a fraction. Coming up a fraction of second too early. No wonder golf is a four-letter word.

99??? Wow! That's shocking given your HI. Just goes to show how difficult and fickle this game is.

I take it PGA Championship is the only major without online streaming? You need to sign up and pay for ESPN+ to get the contents other majors offer for free?

Probably will need a booster shot.

To give credit where it is due, actually it is German company BioNTech that developed the COVID vaccine. Pfizer partnered with BioNTech and was largely responsible for manufacturing and distribution.

Is it Harder to Get Tee Times on Saturday Mornings?
Yukari replied to khalespace's topic in Golf Talk
LOL. I grew up in LB. Went to Poly High. I presume @Big C is referring to LB Rec Park GC? I play there and Eldorado whenever I visit my parents.
