  1. 103 today on a course I know I can play better. I dropped 10 shots on penalties. Unreal.
  2. I think it depends on your overall skill level. My stats prove that I hit greens a lot more often when I'm in the fairway. I get a lot more pars when I'm on the green in regulation. Heck, I might even get a birdie here and there. What I definitely can't do though, is score well when I spray tee shots all over, or am constantly putting myself in trouble off the tee. For myself, I would put a consistent long game ahead of a great short game because then I suspect I would feel like I give myself more chances at good scores. A great short game doesn't feel that great when I'm chipping on in 5...
  3. I agree. I'm a big jerk for for deciding that I wouldn't pass up the likely once in a lifetime opportunity to have a tour pro join my foursome for a round. While I'm on a roll, since there won't be room in your foursome for Padraig and Phil, send em to mine and I'll send all my friends home for this round. ...
  4. This thread is ridiculous. For those of you booting a PGA tour pro out of your foursome, send him to mine. I'll gladly ditch one of my friends for the opportunity to play with a pro.
  5. I actually like Rickie's outfits. I would never dess myself that way though. Here's my top 3: 1. John Daly. Between the hair and the clothes, he looks ridiculous. 2. Matt Kuchar. Bland and mismatched hats. 3. Ryan Moore. The style is okay but I don't think he can pull it off.
  6. Shot 41 on 9 today. Easily my best 9 holes of the year despite not hitting a single fairway.
  7. And Matt Every? Wasn't there another guy who's played on the PGA tour? I think he's on NW right now. James something or other?
  8. Yes! How horrible it is to have to endure hearing these evil statements!!! I completely disagree with Bubba's worldview so I must disparage the things he believes in at every opportunity!!!! It's just not fair that I have to hear this!!!!!!!!!!!! [/sarcasm] In all seriousness and back on topic, I'm surprised he would skip a high profile event like the players. I can see playing fewer tournaments, but why not take a break from some of the smaller tournaments?
  9. I shot a 102. I was driving the ball adequately to great but had no consistency or accuracy with approach shots and just could not get a feel for the speed of the greens today. On a high note, I got up and down twice out of green side bunkers.
  10. I shot an 85 once.
  11. Mine came tonight. I can't believe how bulky and offset it seems. It's also about 1/2" longer than my current 5 iron.
  12. Same for me too. All but two of my players missed the cut. I had Kuchar and Snedeker left for Sunday and together they shot +10 for a whopping 4 points.
  13. Wow, congrats! That's an awesome feeling to reach a goal like that.
  14. Which of course is your prerogative, but I think it's silly to act like because he puts God first in his life that his family somehow suffers.
  15. Are you trying to rip on Bubba for this? If so, you should get a clue. The fact that he's a devout christian and places God first in his life does not somehow translate into he doesn't put his family in the proper place, if you will. I'd say the opposite is likely true. Watch him interact with his wife or watch the Feherty interview, it's clear what family means to Bubba.
  16. I can see Bubba winning another major. Don't forget, he almost won the PGA a couple years ago too.
  17. I'm definitely on a budget so to maximize my golf, I try to play cheaper muni courses, always walk, bring my own water bottle and snacks, and try to play at twilight rates. Of course, this means that I'm not playing on nicer courses most of the time, but that's ok, I prefer quantity over quality at this point in my golf life. I do usually try to play one nicer course a month which might mean $35-$45 for a round as opposed to $18 - $26.
  18. This is America! We speak American here!! That's a total joke BTW. Just in case.
  19. Is anyone actually doing that? It seems that at least most people are in agreement that he hasn't earned based on the qualifying criteria.
  20. weird. I'll keep poking around on my end, then. I guess I'll stick to the old manual entry until I figure it out. Thanks!
  21. Hi Erik, Have you heard of anyone having issues with the sync feature after updating their iPhone to iOS5? I can't be sure but it seems that ever since I updated to 5 I no longer am able to see my computer and sync with my phone. I haven't changed my PC or network setup. Just wondering...thanks,
  22. It's my world, I can live in it any way I want I personally really enjoy watching Ernie Els swing a golf club. It's ok if you don't.
  23. I agree, the Master doesn't need Ernie. However, in my little world, golf on TV just seems like it would be better with Ernie at the Masters. I dunno, it's probably more nostalgia than anything, Ernie's been in the golf spotlight ever since I've been a fan of golf in general.
  24. Put me in the camp of "requires natural ability" + other stuff. I am surprised, shocked even that some people don't think natural ability is required to do things which only a small percentage of the population can do. That being said, I bet there are a lot more people who COULD be tour pros (or insert other upper echelon job in any field) based on their natural ability. BUT, because they don't have the other stuff, such as desire, mental aptitude, work ethic, etc. they aren't. I would also bet there are more people who have the desire and work ethic but lack the natural talent to become a tour pro or whatever. All that being said, I don't think it's a good reason for someone to not follow their dreams if they want to. More power to 'em.
  25. Apparently, Tiger does still intimidate some golfers...
