  1. I've heard of people pulling out the shaft and stuffing cotton balls inside. Not sure if that would work or if it would change the way your driver hits.
  2. If you can for sure borrow your dad's Hogan irons long-term, then absolutely yes I would sell them. But then, I "do the ebay thing" so I could find a set of irons I would enjoy for around $400 or a little more.
  3. I replaced my 3w, which I couldn't hit off the tee or from the fairway, with a Nickent 15.5* hybrid. I hit it a lot better both from the tee and especially the fairway. Longer and straighter. And since Nickent went under it was crazy cheap.
  4. Going down but still a long way to go.
  5. I've seen some threads on another site in which people are pretty happy with their results from Putter Plating - http://putterplating.com/
  6. Isn't he playing with a different ball now too? Maybe that is also part of it.
  7. I know what you mean. On a shorter par 4 (300ish yards) last time out, I hit a great 2H off the tee, good wedge shot to just off the elevated green and close to the hole. I'm in good shape for par or at worst bogey. I then skull my chip over the green, do it again, overcompensate and hit almost straight up and maybe 3 feet forward, then skull past the green a 3rd time, finally get on, and 3 putt. What should've been 4 or 5 turned into 10 strokes. I think my short game needs work, lol.
  8. What course is this? Though I doubt I'm in danger of accidentally playing it if it's in the middle of an apartment complex.
  9. The brushed finish is more than a color change but most people I've read/talked to who have hit both say they feel about the same.
  10. At first i thought the orange was horrible but it has really grown on me. i think they look great. Congrats on the purchase OP. My wife doesn't care about this stuff either though she tries for my sake.
  11. Congrats on a personal best in a pressure situation.
  12. Right now I have 4-PW, GW, and SW in my Wilson Staff Ci7s. The PW is 44*, GW is 50*, and SW is 55. The Ci7s are very strong-lofted irons. I have this idea that getting a set of 48/52/56 wedges would be preferable. However 48 seems to be a pretty strong loft for a wedge, a lot of them only seem to be offered at 50* and up. It is important to me that all 3 wedges match. Maybe that is silly but I'd rather just be honest about my preference. Can anyone recommend a 3 wedge set in 48/52/56?
  13. I've pretty much stayed out of the conversation but this is the biggest load of BS I've read anywhere in a long time man. Seriously, wow.
  14. My vote's for FJ Greenjoys. $55, they're comfortable and do the job. Not the most stylish but it seems acceptable to be garishly dressed on the golf course as long as your shirt has a collar and your pants/shorts aren't denim.
  15. Those are some serious hand-me-downs!
  16. My dream set would currently be useless to me right now but it would probably be Callaway-based, including an Odyssey putter.
  17. I suck at golf but I'm good at spending money on golf. It's the only part of this game I excel at! Fortunately my other vice of tightwaddedness battles my extreme desire to buy pretty new clubs that won't make me a better golfer so I've managed to not spend TOO much yet. If I ever start getting good at this though I might be screwed.
  18. Great article, I can see how understanding this would really help some people out. I will remember this concept.
  19. I don't disagree, but they're paid not for what they do but because millions of people watch it on TV or at the stadium on Sundays and make themselves available for advertising. If footy had a similar following in Australia the players might make millions too.
  20. I'll assume you mean "dog" yards.
  21. It was several years ago so I don't miss the money. Sure I would like to have it back, I definitely learned a lesson.
  22. So if they were offered millions to play, they would say no?
  23. What are you talking about? The OP is not trying to keep the clubs. He was ready to send them back until the crook turned into a belligerent jackass and threatened to "prosecute" (which is interesting if he's in another country).
  24. Good to have you posting on the site Sasquatch.
  25. I doubt she ever actually gets $750M.
