I own a 4.5 Bronze, love the look, feel and price.

Congrats on 60 and 35 years

I too use Google Earth to scout the course, I have a small note book that I make notes in for the course.

~150 yard par 3 with a power line running across the hole about mid way. My ball hit the line and went straight down, no member bounce for me.

As a father of a Jr golfer (11) by after the 9th hole he'd rather ride. Many courses around here offer little to no discount for Jrs.

He can cook very well, last weekend he made pancakes from mix and with fresh strawberries, he can handle the BBQ and he can iron his own clothes. He'll soon learn how to do laundry as well.

Great thread, my son just entered middle school this year. I remember how tough it was for me so I am giving him kudos and praise as to how well he has made the transition. My wife is struggling a bit as he is transitioning from boy to young man including an interest in girls and more of an interest in learning to be a man. We (wife and I) struggle with not riding his butt for little things. He is my main golf partner, he does chores around the house to earn his green fees. Over the summer he ran a lawn business and earned good money. I have another son 9 that has no interest in golf at this time, I spend time with him doing what he enjoys which includes video games, army men, watching Star Wars, soccer and basketball. And trips to Sonic for lunch, his favorite place. It is important to me that I spend quality time with both doing what they/we enjoy. I remind myself how I used to think that my parents did not understand or know s**t to keep it all in prospective.

I have my woods on the handle side, works just fine for walking or riding. I had it the other way but the irons would bang against the shafts for the woods while walking.

6'3 225#, down from 275. I played ball at 315, but I would not have been able to swing a club when I was that big :D

I lost two last weekend in the fairway due to early sun and morning dew. It is amazing how even knowing the general vicinity you still can't find the ball.

Worst golf course in solar system
jdjanda replied to threedolphins's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Pharaohs Golf Club in Corpus Christi TX. I am sure in the 60's the course was very nice, sadly it looks like no maintenance has been done since then. Entire fairways of dirt and patch grass. The greens were all in rough shape. -
Back on topic... How well do the pants feel in high humidity? The "wicking" is greatly reduced.

How to remove old grip without damaging it?
jdjanda replied to Forest's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Take a wire hanger and bend it into a tight loop, then work the hanger down the shaft adding grip solvent as you go. Work all the way around until the solvent dissolves the bond between the grip and tape. It's a PITA but doable. -
I've been focused on working out for the past 6 months. Running 2-3 times per week, upper body lifting mostly focused on arms and shoulders, and core work outs specific to golf. I am seeing improvement in distance and stamina. I've noticed one big plus is I am more able to hit through a "fat" shot. I've recently started slicing my driver badly again, I am not sure if I am trying to power the shot too much and coming over the top.

I'll test this theory tomorrow. I've never broken 100 and I'm playing a fairly nice course. It all hinges on keeping the drive in play, I worked on my 3 wood today but I hit the driver more consistent.

Question regarding hitting down and "trapping"
jdjanda replied to ERdiesel's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I'll often place a tee down to mark the middle of the ball so I can tell where my divot starts to make sure I am hitting the ball first. -
50, 54, 58 Nickent, and my Burner Plus AW (50). Working on learning the new Nickents before I have them fitted. After the fitting I'll likely drop the Burner AW.

Today at the range I hit my irons 90% of the time in the air with a nice flight, my drives were at least 50% in the fairway. I know when I play again it won't transition. When I do find the time to play I am excited to be playing and put pressure on myself to have a good match and to finally break 100. The pressure results in a bad round. I am working on relaxing and enjoying the round, trying to remember that good and bad shots will happen. I either start well then fall apart or start pulling it together after the 12th hole. I just need to play more so I :(

Based on the reviews I'm going to try the e6 next after I burn up my Gamer stock

Congrats I'm hoping to record my first sub 100 round, so I understand the chase.

The advice I got was to have them fitted. I recently purchase a set of Nickent wedges, 50, 54, 58. The 50 is an inch shorter than my current TM Burner AW (50), my Burner Plus irons are all + 1/2". I am looking to replace the Burner wedge with the Nickent, but I too am concerned about the big difference in length. I need to find the time to go down and have them fitted. I expect at the least to have the wedges lengthened by 1/2". I may extend them myself and then have the lie adjusted.

Are we talking about "forward press" in the setup? I found last year that using the forward press helped my contact greatly and I started to hit down on the ball and take divots in front of the ball. I tend to sway back to front in my swing which may be a by product of the press. I am working on taking some of the press out of my setup and eliminating the sway.
