I voted for the 16….but also forgot to weigh in how many chances you’ll play together over the 30 years. If we’re talking less than 200x I would take the 3

I LOVE action like this. We met Michael at Bay Hill during a guys trip and honestly he was bubbly and upbeat but not what he portrays on his show. Nice guy and even had a chip off with us on the wager of loser buys a round of drinks. All that being said, I dont even think a college or pro baseball player could do it, let alone a dude at or near 60 years old. My shoulder is throbbing just thinking about it. Without getting into the science of velocity and mass, throwing a golfball a long ways just isnt really possible.

Talking to a Competitor About Their Shot Before They Hit
kpaulhus replied to MattM's topic in Rules of Golf
Worrying about your swing mid round usually doesnt work out well. Especially if youre in a match or tournament. When I played a ton I would work on my swing/swing thoughts on the course during the week and on the weekend rounds or tournament I would just play with what Ive got. If you practice enough your swing will evolve for the better. -

If I was playing against you on the course and noticed you were easily frazzled, well I wouldnt stop the commentary. To get better at dealing with this, you might want to play for some cash with your friends. Spice up the round a little. Emotions are a big part of golf. Being able to deal with and react to a double bogey before you hit your next tee shot usually results in a better score. Same thing when making a birdie or hitting a great shot. Even Tiger and Dustin walk up to the green like theyve got a huge (you know what) after stuffing it tight to the pin. You certainly can use emotion to fuel your golf game. My buddy is a scratch golfer and absolutely hates giving me strokes. He will beat me 7/10x if we are not playing for cash. When there is money on the line he is my little bitch and sometimes I beat him straight up. It doesnt have to be a ton of money, but just enough to make you a little uncomfortable with losing it. That can be a $10 nassau, $20 match play for 18 holes, a game of $5 wolf can really make you sweat. Just to get your emotions going. Thats what will really help you fine tune your game and get the best out of the swing you have that specific day. -

Reading your comments I ask myself if you have played competitive sports in any fashion. If it bothers you enough you either need thicker skin, or maybe stop playing in tournaments. Of all the things in the world golf is the least effected by outside influences. Its you, your ball, your swing, your thoughts that determine the score on the card. Shake it off the guy might just be a jerk but what he is doing isnt against the rules. As others have said, If you want a confidence boost, when he says something about hitting over a lake or whatever, you nut the shot and hit it how you envisioned. Thats enough of a statement right there. If you let him get in your head he wont stop. If you keep playing good golf and dont react mentally or physically to what he is saying it will get old and he will stop. -
You can blame the golf channel for that. They made Brooks out to be some bodybuilder on the golf course. They talk about him like he is a pro bowl linebacker when in reality hes just a dude that works out and has tight sleeves in his golf polos. Granted winning majors gets you attention. I love how Brooks trolls Bryson.

If today's stars were content with not playing on the Champions Tour, and just played at their super exclusive clubs in games with their friends, the Champions Tour wouldnt last. While there are some impressive golfers on it, I think the Champions Tour is for guys like John Daly who have nothing else to do and need some extra cash. Phil winning his debut is like an NBA athlete dominating a high school game. Its expected. Younger, longer, better caliber player.

Id take Brooks Wins and DJ's wife. Majors over money any day.

Its been a long time since I posted on TST, so I thought when my app updated yesterday, I better log in and see what all this is about. My only knock is that they removed the totals at the bottom of the screen (at least in Florida) showing total number of rounds over the last 12 months and avg score. Unfortunately, I only played 25 rounds in 2019. Way down from my 200 rounds in 2015. Life changed a little but I still enjoy playing when I do. GHIN is catching up with some of the old software I used to use including one @iacas created where I used to log my FIR, GIR, and every stat that could fit on one scorecard. Looking forward to the new WHS format.

If there is any doubt, sign up anyways. You wont regret it. First class golf trip. The tournament aspect of it is for fun, but the main part is just hanging out with people you are golf nuts like you from all over the country. I have been fortunate to play some nice places with some TST members throughout the country when traveling for work. TST also members come down to Florida in the winter and I drive all over just to play with like minded people. Again, if you're lucky enough to get selected, its a very fair cost and for the amount of golf you get and the people you get to play with make it all worth it.

Erik fitted me for my putter. It was fun. -
When to Replace a Faithful Gamer?
kpaulhus replied to ChetlovesMer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Were you fitted for your gamer? Once I was fit for my Edel, I knew it was the last putter I'd ever buy. Ill send it in to be refinished in a few years, but as far as the specs and feel, I'm done changing putters. Wedges last 18-24 months, drivers are a lot alike if you hit the sweet spot. My irons are usually every 5 years. -
The wages for jobs are different in every country. Even from public golf caddies to exclusive private clubs its way different. I hate the argument that Kuch tried to take advantage of his caddie because he wasn't an American. So what, they guy could've not worked and plenty others would have lined up for what he was paid. I think the guy publishing this story has some sort of grudge with Kuch, which is hard to believe, because he seems like one of the nicest guys on tour. We just need a Bubba blow up, or Sergio murdering a bunker, or something Partick Reed related to get the golf world back in order 🙂

I would love to play if I get my index back into single digits. Think of me as a last chance fill a spot kind of guy as I’d love to see others get a chance to play in the event.

PXG Next Gen Drivers… $575
kpaulhus replied to ChetlovesMer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
They have an incredible discount for military. A friend of mine redid his entire bag excluding putter for about 3k, which is similar to if he went with a Titleist or Ping. -
I don’t know the caddie but I know Dull’s 4 ball partner very well. Highly doubt a caddie sucker punched a competitor during a rain delay. Especially at as big of a stage as the Mid Am. I actually saw a Snapchat of Dull and a few other guys playing horse on a basketball hoop during the rain delay, so who knows. Dull can beat almost anyone with just a hybrid and will bet you he can, so I’m sure the guy was mad he wasn’t playing well or whatever. Having poor etiquette isn’t in the rules, so he probably wasn’t mentally strong enough to beat Dull regardless. I dont see the comment as advice.

Yeah that one is going to hurt. Was traveling with work and so focused on NHL playoffs I completely forgot. Going to need a few big time lineups the rest of the season to get back into contention.

I wish my real golf game was on fire like my fantasy picks.

Favorite Grass (On A Golf Course!)

Zoysia is incredible. -
The longest set of irons I’ve owned is 5 years and the faces were very worn. They worked still, but the occasional flier and minimal check backspin on the green had me upgrade. It’s quicker with forged vs cast irons but it happens. Everything wears out at some point.

Why pay 30k for a car when there are used cars for 2k? Why pay for a Rolex when you can have a timex? Why pay for first class tickets when you can ride on the same plane for 1/2 as much? Life is all about what you want. You don’t want to pay more than $85 for golf. Cool, I will play any golf course no matter the cost. But I don’t do it all the time. Typical rounds are 50-75 when I don’t play at the country club but even still I don’t flinch at a $200 round of golf because the quality/experience is typically much better. When it comes to golf courses “typically” you get what you pay for.

I have been picking some good ones the last few weeks. Playing against my buddies in a 3 man fantasy pool and I’ve won a bit of money off of them.

I noticed this a while ago. It used to be easier to see all of them in a ranking but now you have to go the player profile.
