Sounds to me that this was more of a case that the 3some wanted to play faster as opposed to your group playing too slow. I think I would have let them play through and taken it from there. On another note, it shouldn't be an issue that marshalling is a tough job. Most of these guys are retired and probably get a lot of free golf. If you can't do the job you are paid to do, go find something else.

With all due respect, you have an odd sense of fashion. The Polo shirt is not a dress shirt and although my hat is off to those that do manual labor, not everyone has a job that requires it. If you go into most any office environment today, the Polo is considered business casual at best. I see nothing wrong with a Polo and a comfortable pair of shorts on the golf course. I will agree with you concerning the sandals. others may wear them, but they are not for me. It's because you are making idiotic comments like "shorts are for kids and girls".
