What are the best courses in Michigan.
Fatphil replied to JWILL203's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
I'm in the auto biz so I did my 12 years up there...the courses in Michigan are truely awesome. -
I don't know much about pro golf but I can see BS/CYA. His schools were taking a hit bcz the soccer moms think he was mixed up in all the whoring around. He's trying to protect his investments.

If he gave her AIDS she should get the cash up front.

when your shoulders stop turning the swing is complete. Going for more with your arms after you've reached your physical limit is counterproductive.

question about right elbow!!! :)
Fatphil replied to lpuppy79's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I think the folding of the right arm on the backswing is more important (and controlable) than worrying about the downswing. This is where the avg golfer gets F...up watching the touring pros. They push the arms straight back maintaining the "V" as long as possible then they drop the right elbow into the slot on the way down. No way in hell I can make that move. I start folding my right arm when the club is parallel to the ground and keep it tucked for the rest of the swing. As long as I keep the club head outside the hands and the shoulders turning as far as possible I can still generate decent power. (not 120 mph but certainly 100). It would be interesting if anyone has a link to a lesson discussing this topic. -
I'm thinking to bring my kid out and video my swing during 9 holes and compare it to my "driving range pro" swing. I suspect they are two completely different animals and I am interested to see where the breakdowns occur. I would suggest you take a driving range lesson with the same guy so he has a feel for who you are and what your swing looks like before you get out on the course.

Are u a girl or a guy? Is 2.9 your GPA or your Index? Hopefully your index...if it's your GPA, I say study more and play less golf. If your index is a legit 2.9 you probably can make a D2 team but I doubt you'll get any money, maybe a workstudy deal in the cafeteria. Here, if u want to get into FSU or FL you better have at least 3.5 and 1270 SAT's. Top schools are very competitive both scholasticly and sports. A 2.9 index would make my kids high school golf team but not a D1.

I walked into a pub after playing golf at Carnoustie,,,forgot to take off my hat...my caddie came up to me and said "take off your f..kin hat". That made an impression on me. They take the hat very seriously...Which brings me back to Cink on the winnners stand wearing his ridiculous green Nike cap while the others were all hat less. Was he a corporate tool or just stupid? I personally think he's stupid..

This is a chicken or the egg question that can go on forever. A tour superstar like Player has a different perspective than a 25 hdcper. A 25 has obvious swing flaws that need to be fixed so while a 6:1 ratio may work for a tour pro or even a low hndcper,,,the ratio for a 25 is different. What that is, is up to the individual and his teacher. As to the jetsuckknicks1 don't beat yourself up too bad on chunking a 30 yd wedge...that's probably one of the more difficult and precise shots in golf. It involves technique, lag retention, muscle control, coordination and a huge amt of practice. Any schlep can hit a 460cc driver and usually get it airborn, but a 30 yd LW,, ya gotta know what you're doing.

I hold out for the LPGA Open and go with Gulbis and that crazy Korean chick that can't get laid.

guy goes up to Ben Hogan, asks him "Mr. Hogan how can I put backspin on my 7 iron?"....Hogan says, "how far you hit your 7?" Guy answers, "bout 125." Hogan answers, "why the f@$K you want to learn how to stop it?" Don't know if its a true story but it's kinda funny.

Anyone living in the gulf dealing with the oil spill?
Fatphil replied to JaredSS's topic in The Grill Room
not yet, my daughter goes to school at FSU so she is closer than we are here in SoFLA. What pissed me off big time today was watching the USA - England game and all the CASTROL ads on the sidelines and to see ESPN still promoting CASTROL not having a FREAKIN clue that CASTROL is BP. If you or me changed the oil in our car and dumped it in the canal out back and somebody saw you, your ASS would be in jail..If a kid puts a golf club upside the head of a miscove duck...his ass is in jail...if you shoot a gator...ur ass is in jail...but these dickweeds can pump millions of barrels, kill thousands of animals and its all NP. WTF? -
Is Tim Howard the only athlete on that team? the rest of them look like 12 year olds who got cut from the freakin high school flag football team.

Limit on qty of balls carried during tournament?
Fatphil replied to sjsconcepts's topic in Golf Talk
I caddied doubles in the 70's with the old leather bags but the heaviest thing was the damn balls. If you had some tool carrying 30 balls when we were up ahead watching the drives we'd bury 10 of em in a bunker. Of course go back and get them in the afternoon. -
grasshopper is correct...the USA is 3.8 M sq miles, Japan is 150,000 sq mi (about 2X the size of Florida) with a very concentrated population center. Technology or some conspiracy isn't the problem, building the infrastucture to economically service such a huge geographic territory is expensive. Same as cars, ethanol, LPG, electric...the problem is not technology it's distribution. You can't make money selling electric cars if there is no re charging stations and no one has the money to put 100,000 distribution points. Cel towers are expensive and require unbelievable local approvals and hoop jumping to get built. Now that most are built... the ability to move btw 3G to 4G should be easier but that was my original question. Is ATT 4G now or not? I understand that 4G is faster but I do not understand the cost or difficulty of upgrading.
-
yeh this has me confused also..ATT advertises 3G, some say they really do have 4G others say they don't and they are holding off till the 4G phone comes out later this month. Any phone geeks out there?
