  1. i have my dream set......except golf balls, i'm an under armour freak, it'd be nice to have the under armour logo on my balls
  2. what's the difference between the r9 and r9tp? i've looked on taylormades website but see nothing. i'm not really into taylormade so if someone could please give me an explanation it'd be great.
  3. i'll keep the nike going.... http://blogs.golf.com/equipment/2009...ce-lovers.html
  4. if you want to win some the wait is gonna be longer. idk how cheap you wanna go but those irons are from 08 and deals arent gonna be low till maybe mid - late 2010. i suggest looking at ebay...or maybe try rock bottom golf's website. they always have great deals.
  5. i don't see why you can't play with what you want. there are shafts like true tempers sensicore shafts that dampen vibration and i know some grips help with the dampening of vibration as well. do some research on shafts and even grips. everyone should enjoy a game of golf no matter what limitation
  6. i used to swing S300 and they were great. i was curious to the stepless shaft though, tried them, and loved them right away. i prefer a low trajectery, idk why, but i can hit high if i need to. it's just personal preference on to how a shaft feels to you and how it performs. there is no "better shaft out there", just whatever fits into your game and gets the job done.
  7. glad you're being positive about it. hope your game gets better and congrats on your progress
  8. nah don't worry about it. its usual for the first few outings just because you're body isn't used to walking. i carry my bag, full of 14 clubs, 7 balls, and necessities i should take out when i'm not in a tournament such as little survival kits with moleskin, sunscreen, etc., but you'll get used to it. i was the same way and i myself am tall and built. i shoot lower when i walk just cause it allows me to relax and enjoy my game more than when i ride a cart. every once in a blue moon when i don't feel like walking i use my clicgear 2.0 cart.
  9. Yo he may number 1 but honestly i don't care for tiger. much respect to him, no doubt he's got game, but there is never a time when one should throw a club. what i do when i get mad after a shot is throw a ball from my bag into the water, i get so much joy from that for some odd reason. or i just cheer myself up, even if i'm having the worst outing in a long time, by telling myself it could always be worse. but again, golfers need to control their temper, more over the pros because they are on the spotlight. tiger has just lost style points in attitude on my book....
  10. I'm solid all around. Every once in a blue moon i'll fade/draw more than i wanted to but i don't en up too bad. I like hitting into trouble when i practice though so i can practice getting out, cause you never know what can happen in a tournament. So, maybe escaping from trouble when i need to can be the best part of my game since i practice so much. but my approach is great. i average about 13 feet from the pin on my approach shots.
  11. 5.0 is like the R200 and the 5.5 would be slightly stiffer. 6.0 is the S300 and 6.5 is slightly stiffer. 7.0 is the X100. check out http://www.pxshaft.com for more info on Project X and using http://www.truetemper.com/golf/index.php to use for comparison on True Temper's shaft.
  12. nice shot!!!!!!!!!! i had a great shot a few times. a memorable one, i was playing with my boss and some friends, and on a short par 5 i holed a double eagle from around 217 yards out. i hit a horrible fade a little right of the green but way too far from the hole, my ball hit the tree trunk, and God gave me a great bounce and my ball found the bottom of the cup! INSANE!!!!
  13. when i had no official ball maker, i used a leaf, a rock, my wallet!, a tee, my divot tool, my putters headcover! haha, wierd times. now i use a religious coin my parents got me when i completed my confirmation classes (roman catholic).
  14. 190. S57 px 6.0
  15. hmm, i'd prolly wear some layered under armour. but it never gets cold down here. i wear shorts and polo every outing all year! haha, with the occasional pants. man, i love the texas weather!
  16. a steady head promotes solid contact. even the slightest head movement can result in an errant shot.
  17. stack and tilt works but isn't all great. my boss, a pga teaching pro, said that it's as if your doing a reverse pivot, just prefecting it. well, to me, it makes sense considering you can hit the ball straight and far, but in my mind, i believe it serves a benefit to golfers who's golf swing is a reverse pivot....
  18. eh, same here. i've got r7, r9, G5, G10 sittin at home. even callaways ft9. though i keep coming back to PING they make great clubs, in my opinion of course. cobra's new driver looks pretty dope though. might give it a try...
  19. srixon makes great balls period. soft feel, ad333, and trispeed are great for the price. they drop stone dead and at times dance back. i used to the the srixon urs/urc but are the old models. however i stick with srixon, i play the z-star. great ball!!!!! i'm just so amazed to the overall performance of the ball. i have played every ball out there, callaway's tour i's, titleist pro v's, bridgestone's b330's, nike's tour, etc., but i always find myself coming back to srixon. they feel great to me. srixon really has something here. i tell you what though, i'm really curious to hit a few of taylormade's penta tp ball, a 5 piece seems interesting.
  20. confidence may be key to paying as one would like, but courses are becoming longer than 7000 yards as an answer to the advances in golf technology whether it be with balls, clubs, etcetera. as for 15 to 30 years ago, the equipment could be used today but the "outdated" technology would be a little difficult to break 90 for the 16 handicap. however, in an issue of golf digest a few months back, supposedly padraig harrington used his fathers +30 year old clubs to compare against the newer models and they fared surprisingly well.......
  21. i've gotten to try em out....they feel similar to titleists players glove......but personally i use under armour gloves......these gloves are thin for feal i'm guessing....all are great though.....by the way, you scored with 3 for $20! you practically robbed the guy!!!!!!
  22. cart fee's are normal, i work at the local muni, but i've talked to management at the country club 50 mi. north of my quaint little town cart fees are ridiculous. at our public course the membership is under 1000k a year, walking is free, and cart fee is half off......for a public course it's in great shape so no one is getting ripped off.....guess, it just depends where you reside
  23. supposedly it's to keep from doing the "chicken wing" which results in a slice, but honestly i'm not sure if the drill works to prevent it.......
  24. more of the fans than none should be rooting for tiger, and well, it's of course no surprise.....i'm rooting for mathew goggin, he did pretty good today, hopefully he can keep it up....you never know, the way 2009 has been going with winners, it really can be anyone's tournament
  25. shaft stiffness does not come from how far one hits the ball, it all depends on your swing speed....however, changing the shaft would be a good idea....just make sure you get fitted and have an idea to what shaft suits your game....fix your equipment to you, not yourself to your equipment In The Bag: Driver: i15 9* Project X Graphite 7.0 shaft Wood: i15 3 wood Project X Graphite 7.0 shaft Irons: S57 2 thru PW Project X 6.0 shaft Wedges: Tour-W Wedges 56*, 60* Putter: Redwood Black Satin Anser Ball: Srixon Z-Star Bag: Under Armour Links Stand Bag
