  1. I bought a set of Mizuno MP-32’s this winter with x100 shafts off of rockbottom and finally have the time to get over to the range when the balls aren’t frozen. I am by no means a good player, I’m a bogey golfer but iron play has never been my weakness, driving and short game more than often lets me down, but with my infrequency of play it’s to be expected. I played a set of Golfsmith XPC midsize irons with FCM 6.5’s for the last 7-8 years or so. I’m 24 probably around 190 lbs so I do put a bit on my swings. I’ve not been fitted since my first set so I could be way wrong in my gear choice but I’ll let the rest of you hackers like me know how things worked out. So far I’ve been able to hit pw-6iron quite consistently and just as high as my old irons. The wedge-8iron still go sky high with the x100’s which I guess I won’t complain too much about, but I feel after the 6 iron I am too inconsistent this early in the season to justify punishing myself with a more unforgiving long iron. I don’t use hybrids so I’ll be using the XPC’s in the longer iron dept till I get my swing grooved back. I don’t regret making the purchase and for the price ($350) I don’t think I went too wrong. A mixed set would probably be a better bet but I just can’t justify spending the money retail to get the clubs I want, $900 for a set of Mizuno mixed irons just isn’t in my budget. I’ll stick with the older ones till I can gain the swing and confidence to consistently hit the longer irons. I don’t regret my purchase at all, the feel is outstanding and the punishment from off center hits is much less than I was expecting with a cut muscle design. They look great at address and give me some good confidence when I swing. The distance seems to be a big longer but I’m going to put that to differing lofts on the sets (I can’t find the xpc specs online unfortunately but if its anything like the old titelist pro-100’s I had a 2iron there is a 3iron in Mizuno for loft). If you’re a good iron player who is looking to switch to something that has a more blade appearance I would definitely recommend the mp-32’s but unlike me you should probably get fitted before you buy them! Hopefully the positive range experience will translate onto the course when the damn snow melts. Hope this review helps someone out who might be looking to go down this road. I know they are older clubs but they can still be had on the cheap new or slightly used.
  2. you can carry many more drinks in a cart compared to walking.
  3. great game too bad the us didn't pull it out
  4. would love to see USA and Canada again, although I feel that the Canadians would get the better of USA next time around.
  5. Tip jars are a sham, don't use them for something that does not deserve a tip. As for resturant tipping if the service was downright terrible i wont leave more than a dollar even if my meal is over $100. Why should i promote the awful attitude and service of the waiter and justify it with a tip? If you suck at your job you don't deserve a tip; i hate people who will leave a tip just because it seems like the thing to do even with god awful service. With that being said if your a quality waiter/waitress etc and promote a great dining experience I don't have a problem leaving 20% or more and if I'm on my own eating at a restaurant I might bump it up to 30% just because one person normally wont order enough to get a decent tip. I don't mind it if the service is good but if its awful don't leave a large tip, you're just telling the waiter its ok to be shitty at their job. A dollar gets the message across quite nicely, some loose change is even better to send a message. perhaps the only place this would apply is joe's stone crab in miami beach :)
  6. that should be rule 1 on any list
  7. yea simulator at dicks said I was hitting a 7iron 185... unless your at a range where you can watch the ball land you wont get any sort of accurate distance projection.
  8. They aren't my actions
  9. if it wasn't a golf club say a $10 bill with no idetifying marks as to ownership would you run around asking folks if they lost $10? I think the moral of the post is to put your contact information on your club and then you'll get it back but without it there is no way to tell true ownership. The pro-shop will just end up selling it for a profit after nobdoy claims it anyways, so perhaps his viewpoint is exactly that, why should the pro-shop profit when the owner could not be found. Do you truly depsise the pro-shop for selling all the "found" clubs like you do this poster, seems the same to me, one is theft the other is theft for monetary profit according to the posts I've read. He wont get the club back if nobody claims it at the pro shop, yet the pro-shop will benifit not the person who found the lost club. So the pro shop is just as evil, no?
  10. the episode where they attempt to destroy a Toyota Hilux is the best one by far, the African expedition is a close second.
  11. 2007 golf 3dr
  12. not much Canadian input on this thread anymore!
  13. uncharted 1 and 2 are awesome, also if you have a PC get this... http://www.playon.tv/ you won't regret it, by far the best thing I've ever used for my ps3
  14. Mine is the logo for the Lugoff-Elgin golf team. I miss my sister so much after she moved with my dad down to SC so it reminds me of her each time I see it!
  15. tj-maxx and marshalls etc are great places to look, same clothes just much cheaper. Also if you have a more affluent area try their tj maxx for different things. Here sudbury/acton are richer towns than where i am and they always get the better quality goods than my local one, not sure how it is in WI though...
  16. Not sure how being able to hook it up to a hdtv makes it the winner, I can do that with my pc just fine, with one cable! A pc wouldn't cause digital errors, your video source would so not sure why the ISP video output quality even matters when deciding on which to buy. Also, not sure what the "issues of PC's" are either, can you elaborate? My PC is filled with dust since I keep it on the floor which you just shouldn't do, yet it still hasn't crashed on me, seems good and stable no? If you dont buy an inferior product it won't suck, pretty simple I think.
  17. What are you going to use your computer for? Are you computer literate at all? There is more factors than just hey which is better. In my own personal experience PC's do fine when you load them up with ram and don't have a crap OS on it. Windows 7 and Vista are garbage, your better off loading your new PC with windows XP if you end up going that route. Things will run much quicker and you'll still be much cheaper than a mac. If you have no idea how to use a computer be trendy and get yourself a mac. Odds are most people who are complaining about PC's being slow and crashing load them with all sorts of garbage and cant understand how to run the msconfig to fix things or tweak your settings. I've had my HP on constantly for the past 5 months and it has not crashed once... Just don't believe that if you buy a pc your going to be bluescreening and getting viruses galore, that's operator error. A computer doesn't do anything but what you tell it to do, so stop installing garbage and trying to download free porn on limewire and maybe it might run a bit better... I don't even run a virus scan, it's pointless, just don't be stupid with what you do to your pc and it wont be stupid back at you. If your using your computer for intense graphic production or photo editing go with a mac, it will be better. But figure out what you want to to for you before you go spending lots of money on something you just don't need.

  19. I think the biggest factor will be how the HP slate preforms. It seems like it at least lets you watch videos in widescreen, if only hp would make it with windows xp! Maybe if the ipad is a failure apple will fire jobs again heh.
  20. That's exactly why I got my ipod touch, to use the browser in class and check my email so i wouldn't have to lug a laptop every time. If i could have bought an ipad when I was getting a touch I probably would have, it's about the same price. I'm just confused that it's a giant touch when it was supposed to be so innovative, the next big thing. Hopefully the 2.0 version will be full of extra features.
  21. Should a member who spends 45k a yr but plays 100 times put his home course as the most expensive round? Would be interesting to see just how much people get out of their memberships on price per round basis.
  22. If it supported flash you could watch all the tv you wanted for free along with many other things. Apps may be cute to look at in their little icony form but I dont really see how someone can justify spending $500-850 on a base device that you'll need to load up with apps (some costing $$ others not so much). Whats the real cost after you load everything on there?
  23. As long as the US doesn't put Tim Thomas in goal they should do alright.
  24. sums it up pretty well there I love how you can turn on any law and order and see a bloody dead hooker whos been raped all over yet people get all up in arms about someone smoking or drinking on tv.
  25. unless your playing them for $ or in a tourney why would it bother you? Most weekend golfers don't keep a handicap so i don't see it being a big deal.
