11:34. On digital clocks upside down, reads "hell". I see it at least once a day without fail. Used to bother me, now I just don't care. Funny, I thought I was the only one that thought about this...

Agreed. And they wouldn't have to share the one beer!

If you're willing to invest in sending it to the shop, why not just spend the few extra bucks and get it done the right way? I sent mine off about a month ago (impatiently waiting on it's return). If you buy a headcover, and grip, the paintfill is free? I don't think it's worth the risk of having Scotty's work done on some parts, and you doing your own work on others. My opinion, your money, your descision... Good luck.

Best looking irons? Have your say.
parplease replied to Hacksaw's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yes indeed. Had them in my hand at the golf show this weekend. Sweet looking iron. -
I thought it was great. Picked up quite a few things and saw a bunch of golf buddies that I haven't seen in months. Now just waiting for the snow to melt so I can use the things I purchased...

Go with what works for you. Make it suitable to your style and roll the rock. Welcome to the club! I sent my first SC (squareback 1) to the shop for weights and customization. But the others I made the adjustments locally.

You could pull the trigger and go tour, but finding out they don't work after the demo day is over and $899.00 later, is a costly learning experience. If you truly feel you hit a particular club better, search on Ebay for it and buy the 6 iron or another iron individually. Take it to the range and hit it from the mat/tee/grass for a few weeks and see if it's still the club for you. Cost, 40 bucks and few buckets of balls. Then you'll have a better knowledge of knowing if that club truly works for you. Whichever path you choose, good luck!

Bought a set of irons, should I get them fit?
parplease replied to Meddle's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
You stated that you're playing them well. Why mess with it? Fittings come before the purchase, not after. Play the clubs and get your moneys worth because should you find you do need an adjustment, you could end up paying the same amount for the work as you did for the clubs. -
Obviously, the best boss in the world. She's even taking lessons now!

My job supports my habit. If it's nice out, I'll work hard and finish up, call my boss, and tell her "I'm out of here", without reprecussion. I take long lunches if I've got something I'm working on. Clubs and putters in the office. As far as the wife, I've tried to introduce her to the game and even bought her a full set that she will begin using this year. Not just to play with me, but to get out there and meet people. I've done my best to introduce everyone involved in my life to golf. If they choose not to, then they have to understand that they wont see me as much. Cause the range or the course is where I'll be. Don't lie to the wife about golf. Cause they will always expect you were doing something far worse if you get caught.

Shoe and Bag Suggestions Please
parplease replied to WALRUS's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I have over 12 pair of golf shoes and I find the Adidas to be the best. My favorites are the tour 360 black/red/white. By far the best pair of golf shoes I've ever had. Footjoys look nice new, but wear out very quick. Out of all of mine my least favorite are Callaways. I know why you can get them so cheap at the golf shows (2 for 40 bucks). Never again for me. I've only had 3 bags and they have all been cleveland... -
I tried them and liked them, but I tend to like most Cleveland equipment. I've attached a review I found on the net. http://golf.about.com/od/equipmentre...09cg7irons.htm

I can only tell you from my experience of going the past couple of years. The majority is vacation package places. Myrtle beach, virginia, etc. But then there are booths by Rockbottom and quite a few other vendors. There were a couple booths that had shoes only. I recall an Adidas One, a few Callaway, and mixed vendors. They have an indoor driving range for you test out equipment that you may be interested in purchasing, and they also had an area where you could receive a free minute lesson. (about 12-15 people at a time). For the price of admission, you get a free subscription to golf magazine and you can return for the other days for free. Last year Hank Haney was there giving tips and things. They also have a bunch of golf ball vendors selling all the major brands at a decent price In my opinion, it was pretty good. I picked up a few pairs of shoes (2 for 40 bucks) some clubs, and a few gloves the last time I went. And I will be going again this year. Hope that helps...

What are the benefits of joining? Is it an annual membership or one time? I have a putter there now being customized and thought about joining, but didn't pull the trigger. I did get the club cameron 2k10 Headcover off ebay though.

Ebay. Adidas pants 1/2 the price. TJ Maxx/Marshalls (don't know if they have those where you live.) has golf apparel really cheap. Stay out of the golf stores unless they are having clearance sales.
