  1. Second that. Hinge and hold mate, hinge and hold.....
  2. Nice post Clambake. Agree with every part of it. The problem with todays golfers and every other sport in general is that you get the reward before you really earn anything. It's gotta be hard to stay motivated, put in the hard work day in and day out when you've already got a Ferrari and a gorgeous missus back home. The era of Hogan, Snead and Nelson, dubbed the "greatest generation" the tour was a damn grind, 36 holes in one day and most of the time they played week in week out. Those guys were tough. Bryon Nelson says it nicely “Winners are different. They're a different breed of cat.”
  3. This advice gets me boiling. When I had my first and only lesson the instructor told me to do this. Gave me more of a slice and I quit the game for 10 months.
  4. Great stuff I gotta remember this. When I started missing those 3 or 4 footers. I started to tap my putts real light in fear of missing it and the ball going too far past the hole. Scared play as you would say in poker.
  5. Miami... don't think they will make to the finals this year. Celtics D is too good. Steve Blake has already done more for the Lakers than Jordan Farmar. Giddy up!

    Anthony Kim

That's what Tiger said too. He won't be another John Daly because he won't win two majors.
  7. I know next to nothing about Baseball but Four days in October was awesome, I'm trying to get into that game but they're just so long. My least favourite would have to be "Jordan rides the bus." I had high hopes for that being a diehard Jordan fan but the execution was weak. For Jerry Reinsdorf to say "If Jordan stuck to it I think he would of been in the Major Leagues in a couple of years," is a bit much. "One night in Vegas" was pretty weak too. I just downloaded Guru of Go, hopefully that's a winner.
  8. Anyone else a fan of these great documentaries? If so whats you top 3? If you're a sports fan and haven't watched these do yourself a favour and watch them! Here's the full list. * o Fernando Nation Cruz Angeles o Kings Ransom Peter Berg o The Band That Wouldn't Die Barry Levinson o Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL? Matula There are so many that are of award winning calibre it's hard to choose my favourites. My top three so far - 1. "Into the wind" - The story of Terry Fox, a canadian who decides to run across Canada on practically one leg to raise money for cancer. This one was a real tearjerker and an absolute inspiration. 2. "Once brothers" - This one was about the friendship of Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic. I could relate to this one. Basketball was huge in Australia around this time and I was living in a area full of Croatians. Heaps of kids had his number 3 jersey. When he died everyone was shocked. Drazen was an assassin on the court. 3. "The two Escobars." - The story of Andreas and Pablo Escobar and how the drug cartel help raise Columbian soccer into a powerhouse in Latin America. It eventually lead to there downfall. This one is just chilling, I didn't know so many Columbians held Pablo in such high esteem. I will be surprised if this doc doesn't win an award of some kind. Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs The Knicks, The trial of Allen Iverson, The U and Four Days in October deserve a mention too. I'm not even a fan of Baseball but any story about a team kicking New Yorks butt makes me happy.
  9. Is there a Newman and Brooks in Melbourne? There's that store and Golfbox.
  10. That left elbow is well past 90 degrees at the top of your backswing. Unless you're trying to duplicate Fred Couples keep that left elbow pointing down.
  11. Cheers! I really just got it because everyone else has a golf avatar. :] Absolutely it does. I'm just saying if Golf majors were always played in a matchplay format like Tennis, I think Jack and Tiger's major wins would be higher.
  12. Exactly. Bobby Jones quit the game at what, 27? Has a 62% win rate and played with hickory shafts (for all those with the technology argument) The only argument I can say he has against him was back then a few of the majors (can't remember which) were matchplay, which is a different ball game to stroke play. Lose-lose argument this one.
  13. Don't know when you hit puberty but mine was well before 15 :P This sounds about right, they are professional golfers after all.
  14. I don't think there push-fades went that far right. :P So Vijay actually has an in-out swing path? Also with an in to out swing path wouldn't the cure for a push-fade be to simply close the club face a bit more at address?
  15. Your position at impact is uber leet. What are you working on now? The only thing I can say is that it looks like theres a lack of "tucking of the butt" at the end?
  16. Hate to still the thread here but what's the RIGHT cure for a push-fade? (SnT swing) I know I'm not coming over the top, I rarely ever pull the ball or slice (pull-fade I think?) it but I never hook it either. I sometimes baby draw it. Does this mean I'm swinging to far on the back side of the circle and my club face is too open? I found having a stronger right hand grip (I'm a right sided swinger), with the heel pad going directly over my left thumb helps but is that a band-aid over a bullet wound fix?
  17. Who cares about seconds? If we were going by your logic then Bobby Jones is by far the greatest golfer of all time.
  18. I heard Vijay hits a pull fade but this looks likes a push fade to me....??
  19. I think he was on the nation wide tour in his younger days? Yeah I've also heard that his short game is average. But damn he does have a nice swing, especially with the driver. Looks so effortless.
  20. I've had fantastic results with this. Best pitching advice I've had yet. Can you have that float loading motion with a full swing? Or will the timing be too hard?
  21. Touche. Great rhythm, goofy swing.
  22. Some people have heaps of head movement and are still able to have consistent contact (Phil Mickelson has crazy head movement). I'm S&T; so I try to keep my head still and had to work on it, I do spring my head up on the follow through but during the backswing I try to make sure it doesn't move right. There could be a lot reasons why you don't have consistent divots. Things that helped me were getting my weight more forward, making sure the elbows don't pull apart and keeping the head still.
  23. Are your mishits a push? Correct me if I'm wrong but that right elbow looks too far out...
  24. It's got absolutely nothing to do with his physique but the position he's in and that weird facial expression he has.... I'm in aw of Bruce Lee's physique but I don't want to see the guy naked, bent over with nanchucks.
