  1. Full 56. If into the wind or uphill I'll step on it a little. If wind behind or downhill I'll take a smidge off.
  2. Best 9 was even par. Best 18 was 76 on a par 70, and a few 79's on par 72's. I made it to a 9 handicap this season but then put together a string of really bad rounds (like 12 - 3 weeks worth) to put me back up to a 12. I've produced a pinched nerve in my lower back so I'm making some changes to make my swing less violent and it seems to be working (the 76 was last Tuesday) This year I have shot 76 to 101. Mostly in the mid-to-high 80's (with 3 rounds under 80!).
  3. Doesn't bother me in the slightest... as long as you're quick enough during the round to not slow anything up and most importantly not 'blowing up' after any shot. The way I feel... those that consistently shoot over 80 shouldn't be getting upset about 99% of their bad shots. (I am included in this side of the coin). Even the pros make bad shots, and they know exactly what they are doing. Us mere mortals have so many inconsistencies in our swings, stance, grip, alignment, etc that we are almost guaranteed to make more than a few bad swings throughout a round. Disclaimer: I've said this aloud many times and in written form here... but I have also been the guy that blows up. I may be in the future as well... I simply say these things and write them in these forums as part of my mental game/mindset practice to keep this portion of the game under control by constantly reminding myself.
  4. Looks like it is more of a scoop... not quite compressing down on the ball, more like just scooping through.
  5. Usually 2-4 times per week between April and September with a couple weeks off in the middle somewhere - usually during the hottest part of the summer. Hit the range a couple times a week in March and April, then don't usually hit the range save for a session here and there for the rest of the summer. Starting my season this weekend down in Nashville with a quick 4 rounds.
  6. True Linkswear Tour 2.0. I have to wait another week to try them at the range, and I'll be golfing in them Easter weekend in St. Louis. Can not wait! At the golf show this weekend: A pair of all weather gloves, a Hirzl glove, a shirt, & a Rain Wedge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The bingo announcer for Milwaukee's biggest casino. :)
  8. Not sure why you are so upset... this has been discussed all over the place. Golf channel was all over it for a couple days. I don't understand why Tiger (of all people) would think this is an area that a drop would be acceptable. The embedded ball rule clearly states "closely mown area" which this is obviously not.
  9. Try playing a couple rounds of just match play (without keeping his round score). He'll notice that even though he blows up on some holes he still 'wins' others by shooting well. It makes it easier to 'forget' poor shots/holes.
  10. Start your backswing by turning your shoulders
  11. The first time I broke 80 was great. But my most memorable round was even par through 9 from the tips.
  12. This is the best goal I have seen yet.
  13. I lost my putter cover during a round towards the end of last season, and didn't replace it until it was too late... now my beautiful Bettinardi has some little ding marks on the top edge that my eyes actually focus on when I am aligning my putts. Anyone have any ideas how to clean it up or who to send it to and how much it may cost?
  14. What driver loft and which shaft are you currently using?
  15. -GIR >40% -Up & Down >40% -Multiple rounds in the 70's -Multiple eagles this season
  16. Make sure to keep your head still throughout the swing (which usually eliminates body sway as well).
  17. Get them. You'll (hopefully) drop 5 points off your index in a couple months of play... I did. (Actually from an 18 to an 11 in a spring/summer/fall season). Once an instructor helps you correct your swing, you end up with an internal idea of the swing process that you can take to the course.
  18. If you are 13+ handicapper get the range pass (and a couple lessons if you can swing it). If you are under 13 spend all your time playing.
  19. Not available (yet) for iPhone. (Boo)
  20. I put Lamkin Crossline full cords (plus 2 wraps) on my irons last season and the more I played with them the more I liked them. I need a new driver grip, so I'm going to try the new Winn Duratech Hybrid this season.
  21. If I have the option to either practice or play a round I am out on the course faster than a knife fight in a phone booth. Living in Wisconsin, however, forces me to be a practicer in the winter/early spring months since there is no other option.
  22. 1. Tiger Woods - 274 2. Nick Watney - 276 3. Keegan Bradley - 276
  23. I think there might be quite a difference between heaters on a golf range where you are from and where we are from. It's not so much the heaters... it's the fact that where we are from the outside temp is below freezing and there is snow on the ground.
  24. This is not a good analogy. "I'm a beginner but I want to be in a famous band" is more accurate. The reason you must make the statement more accurate is because it is impossible to be a guitarist for the Stones, while it is not impossible to be in a famous band. We made fun of a friend for being a golfer in middle/high school back in the early 90's. Now he is a college women's coach. He may not have made it to the PGA, but he is a scratch golfer and is making a good living doing what he loves. This kid is thinking he will be ranked #1 in the world after every birdie he makes I'm sure... let him do it. Worst case scenario is he gets a good golf game to go along with whatever he does become.
  25. In. Shotly needs to add Milwaukee, WI though. Wikipedia: Milwaukee; is the largest city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, the 28th most populous city in the United States and 39th most populous region in the United States.
