Ive played NXT Tour and Topflight Gamer v2 a bunch this year. Hands down I'd go with the Gamerv2 better price/slightly better performance.

Looks like the Nucks and the Habs have both fallen apart. Go B's Go Hawks!

I once topped a ball so bad that it shot straight up in the air hit me in the face and fell into the same spot it was in before. -Do I win?

Tomboy that sounds like an excellent drill I will most definitely work on finding a way to practice that. (Now I just need a practice green and some solo time with it) About rolling vs hitting I completely get this. I think its just when I have the opportunity to score an E I wind up tensing and rather than rolling the ball I poke it with a rather wristy stroke. I think comes down inevitably to practice(or lack of) and patience. Ill try to remember to focus on rolling the ball next time a Birdie or Eagle putt comes up. Thanks for the advice.
-
Ill remember that the next time I get a chance at one of these. It might do me better than my friends advice which is "Just pretend that this putt is for 1 million dollars" --- I dont think that helps with being tense lol.

Good point. I might have 4 putted and mental blocked it. I def bogeyed them. Edited the OP. See the thing is I think my only 4 putts have come on eagle opportunities this year. I think after I miss the birdie putt that im so PO'd I dont care if I get a par or triple bogey at that point and just wack the ball at the hole. Im not a terrible putter but Its absolutely one of the weakest parts of my game. Ball striking is good, short range shots are good but once I got on/around that green anything can happen to me man.

So far this year my driving has been spot on -- (for my skill level) As a result ive had 3 putts for eagle in about 10 or so rounds now. I havent gotten even a birdie on a single one of them. First was a Par 5: 5i second shot to the farside of the green. First putt was 20+ft, 3 - Putt Par 2nd Par 4: Drove the green(270yds) 4 Putt Bogey First Putt was inside 10ft. 3rd Par 4: Drove the green(265yds) 4 Putt Bogey.. First putt was less than 12 ft I tend to become intensely focused on holing the putt for the E and usually wind up blitzing it past the hole sometimes farther than my initial putt was to begin with. I just cant seem to keep my cool in these situations. Am I cursed to never get an eagle? Or are there any tips out there you guys can think of to slow it down and make the shot. Such as putting for the birdie rather than the eagle? What do you guys do in big situations like this to keep it loose and roll the ball into the hole?

The other day on a par 3 180yd hole I crushed a 6i but pulled the living crap out of it 30ft left of where I was aiming. When the ball hit the ground a bird popped started to fly and crashed right back down. Then it gimped into the woods. Poor thing, I felt horrid that I pulled that shot he/she was probably thinking no1 will pull a ball that badly all the way over here and hit me....

Do I absolutely need anything more? Do I have something that is hard to play with? I really want easy, forgiving stuff to learn with. If you have trouble with the driver I recommend this for a begginer. http://www.2ndswing.com/browse.cfm/4,99671.html Its the Great Big Bertha 2 with an 11* loft and a reg flex shaft. Ive been known to smack the ball close to 300 sometimes further with this though the average is around 250 and I find it really forgiving but still able to shape shots around dog legs when needed. -

I had a similar range session 2 weeks ago. I had just been rearended by a drunk a driver the night before and didnt get much sleep because of it. My dad was determined to get a range trip in that day so I went with him against my better judgement. I think I hit about 200 balls, and maybe about 20ish good ones. My knees were moving head was coming up etc.. it was probably the worst ive looked in 2years now. The next day I went out and played 18 and shot an 88 after getting a good nights sleep, and letting myself calm down and remember what it is I do well, not what it is I do poorly. I would say the only solution is to get right back at it!

15 HCP and you dont even own a set of clubs? Man I must be doing something wrong!!!! Either way thanks for your service, hope you enjoy the summer on the golf course! I'd say the most important thing to remember is just have fun, if you have a bad shot dont worry about it at all just have fun. If it helps watch the people around you duffing away as well, the game isnt suppose to be stressfull its suppose to be fun.

Last summer I left a brand new cg12 right next to the trap on the 18th. Went into the clubhouse, got a beer and 15 mins later went outside to leave I check my bag before leaving and see its not there I realize the last shot I took with it was out of the 18th greenside bunker and run over (maybe 15mins have passed). The group behind us is long gone and so is my club. I went into the proshop and no1 had turned in anything that day. So yes you did the right thing stealing a club is extremely bad mojo and you should never ever do it. Because its SERIOUSLY Freaking annoying to the person who lost it.

Anyone use graphite shafts on their irons?
BostonSully replied to Cossackred's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
My clubs are circa 2004-2006 (im not sure bought them 2nd hand) They have reg flex graphite shafts in them. I really launch the ball a good 1-2 clubs above everyone else I play with who uses steel shafted irons. I have demo'd steel shafts and not lost any distance (particularly G15 irons). Do you guys think that someone who plays around bogey golf(would be better if I could get up and down sometimes) would be better off switching to a steel set? Also if I want to improve would I be better off getting something like Ap1/Ap2 or something like G15. I want to actually improve in the next 2 years not just have the clubs make me better. -
Fess up - how many rounds have you played in your career ??
BostonSully replied to inthehole's topic in Golf Talk
Seeing as I have about 7 rounds and more than a dozen visits to the range in the short amount of time you've been able to golf here in boston allready this year Id prefer not to count. -
I feel like there is plenty of potential for upsets in the first round in all of the series this year. Ryan Miller can steal a series himself and the Sabres have been better for the last 2nd 1/2 of the year and Vanek is a playoff monster. Habs vs Bruins anything can freaking happen. WAS-NYR The rangers play a playoff style system and can give any team fits when King Henrik is on top of his game, I think if they can steal game 1 and 2 then WAS will crumble and be out in 5. TB vs PITTS I dont see this being anything other than a 7game war. Heres to hoping my B's play your Flyers in the ECF. The B's are much healthier this year and I really like their chances, I also want redemption for last year against the Flyers that would be a great series. Go B's!

if i buy this driver will it hit the ball for me? haha
BostonSully replied to mdiogo's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I think the real question here is would you rather have the OP's all gold driver or this http://www.homewetbar.com/Fully-Automatic-Golf-Club-Kooler-Klub-p-1038.html?utm_source=giftscom&utm;_medium=Referral&utm;_campaign=Product The driver that also serves you cold Jim Beam and Cokes. My vote is for the booze dispensing driver. -
I love this ball your so lucky!! I got 2 sleeves of them for 5$ before my first round of the year off a tip from the guy in the proshop. I was shocked when my ball was stopping on all of the greens I was hitting and that it seemed get almost tour ball distance. Im looking into finding a good deal online to try and buy enough of em to last me the year now. You lucky SOB

As long as they dont put them in the Cup and then stuff it down with the flagstick who cares where they throw it. One time I had to blow my lid on the league that played at my course on thursday nights, they werent members or residents of the course they just purchased the rights to hold their league there once a week. Long story short these guys pushed me over the edge, they would all put their smoked Butts and Cigars in the cups and then stuff em down with the flagstick. The rest who didnt smoke would spit their chew all over the greens, and the ones who didnt smoke or do dip/chew were the worst. They would spit sunflower seeds wherever they would fall including covering the greens in the little freaking shells. The residents who played early friday mornings would always complain about it, and cleaning sunflower seeds off the greens was worse then shoveling goose poop off of them. So the greenscrew consulted the Pro and then waited for them in the proshop for an hour and had a few beers on the next thursday and reemed into these guys and the pro threatend to cut them off. They quickly cleaned up there act... Ahh good times.

0 Reviews and it came out in 2009 huh? I guess no1 is taking the bait. Perhaps when I own my 195ft Yatt and am sailing around the coast of Italy in a few years I can use this to hit precious stones into the water. -
Someone Hit me With their Ball... Did I take it too far?
BostonSully replied to DJYoshi's topic in Golf Talk
To your point last summer in my Mens Hockey league. There was a real punk on the other team who was giving gruff' to the old guy (45yo) on our team. This punk was yappin yappin yappin, till the old guy eventually told the kid to shut his mouth. The kid then Turned and spit in my teammate, the old guy's, face not 1x but 2x and it was on the 21yo dropped the gloves. Problem for this 21year old punk is that the 45yo on my team is a Boxing instructor and MMA Trainer at several local gyms. The old guy beat the tar out of the kid so bad that he knocked out his front 2 teeth broke his nose brutally and left a nice gash above the kids eye almost without taking a single punch. So now our old teammate cant play this year, is banned from the league and is still fighting court proceedings(filed by the little punk) to this day. Like you said you dont know who's punching back and you dont think about the consequences till their ruining your life for the next 2 years. -
Quick Q on this subject. At my local pitch and putt I'll usually play 2-3 balls a hole all the way from tee to hole individually. I'll record all 3 scores seperately and treat it like I played 3 different rounds (not for handicapping purposes just for my own mental score). Is this legit?

Golf Bag: where do you store it, is the car trunk or garage OK?
BostonSully replied to arduous1's topic in Golf Talk
I keep my clubs in only the purified waters of Lake Winapatunku -
Great shot is a great shot. But still not an ace, you got a par though thats good. Its funny my friend holed out from 200 yesterday on a par4, only problem is it was for double bogey lol. He took three Tee shots 2 went in the woods and his 3rd in the rough 200 out and he nailed it right into the cup. We went nuts but still gave him a 6 lol.

Being a greenskeeper for 6 years I have to say. If I saw you take a full swing at a ball on one of my greens I woulda run over and punched you in the mouth. (Not you but you know what I mean)
