  1. If women can compete on the men's tour, why is it men can't compete on the women's tour? I genuinely don't care either way though...

    Putting

I know I prefer a nice, crisp edge on the cup, but the holes at my home track tend to get rounded off. I swear that helps balls lip out, as I have more putts break my heart there than anywhere else...
  3. I make sure I have at least a dozen in the bag. Rarely lose more than 2-3, but I like to keep a few extra in case I forget to replace the lost soldiers before the next round.
  4. I just want to be a little older, a little wiser, and still flexible enough for a healthy shoulder turn. As long as that all works out, I think I'll be in good shape on the course...
  5. I've got Player A averaging 60 points, and Player B averaging 64 points. My math might be a bit rusty, but I'd imagine the committee should use a little common sense and award Player A as "Player of the year". 9/9 is damn impressive.
  6. My kid brother (he's 17) and I were playing and we were about 15 minutes ahead of pace after 12 holes, but the threesome in front of us was about a hole ahead of us. The marshal rolled up and told us we needed to speed up. I firmly told him he needed to recheck his math figuring out the pace. He started to argue with me there on the tee about how I was slowing down "his" course. I walked over to my cart and called the clubhouse on my cellphone and explained what was happening and I that I either wanted for them to get him away from us, or for my money back as I didn't feel like being berated without violating any of their policies. Not only was he gone quick, someone from the clubhouse came out and apologized to us.
  7. Craig Stadler. I'm out of shape lol.
  8. The only thing out of the ordinary I keep in my bag is a long sleeved Coldgear UnderArmor shirt for those chilly early morning tee times.
  9. Always makes me chuckle on the inside when guys have $4k in clubs that they can't hit.
  10. I scrambled my way around my home track yesterday to a 74 with only 5 GIRs and all of 23 putts. Is having a hot putter better than being in a groove with the driver or knowing exactly what your irons are going to do when you stand over the ball?
  11. I can get to around 64ish give or take on TOUR PRO difficulty. The fact that I'm not shooting in the mid-low 50's like past games makes this fun. I did shoot a 58 at TPC San Antonio, but I was dropping putts from all over after missing everything and going -1 in my previous round...
  12. I think #12 at Augusta is the more difficult hole, but #17 at Sawgrass is the more visually intimidating hole...
  13. Maybe you've gotten stronger and your old shafts aren't stiff enough? Just focus on controlling yourself and smooth contact.
  14. Congrats!
  15. I shot a 92 off a 3 playing with my buddy about a month ago. I absolutely hemorrhaged strokes at the start and was fighting a mental glitch with my wedges. I did finally hit a few good shots on the closing holes.
  16. I was real bad. I made fun of my best friend growing up for saying golf was hard. I'd tell him, "The ball doesn't even move. Hitting a curveball is tough..." When we were 16, he got tired of me running my mouth and took me to play the local muni. I shot a 90 in my first round, on the front 9 lol. I was AWFUL. I stepped to swing and genuinely had no clue what was about to happen. That's when I got hooked though...
  17. I don't notice too much of a difference except maybe a 10 yd loss with the longer clubs. Short irons and wedges are pretty close...
  18. This is one situation where I'm glad I'm a lefty. Nobody asks to try my sticks because I'm "backwards" lol
  19. 130 yds is a solid 52* for me. I feel pretty comfortable with that shot except for lately I've been blocking some wedges out to the left. My ideal lay up yardage is around 90 yds.
  20. I use GolfNow sometimes to get on some of my local courses for $20-30. I think the $50-60 per round through the golf shops is excesssive for weekdays. Hell, the course I worked at in '03 wants $85 for a weekday morning. No thanks...
  21. I use the one on my Odyssy 2-ball putter when it's in the bag, but whenever my smaller headed putter (pixl) is in play I don't worry about it.
  22. +1 Practicing getting up and down is a lot better than separating the chipping and putting aspects of the short game.
  23. He also only wears one shoe on the greens...
  24. The answer to this question is almost always "work on your short game". You say you don't have good feel around the greens and can't putt, then work on those things for 2-3 hours a week and your scores will drop.
  25. It sucks to have to order clubs you haven't hit yet. I wish I could demo more stuff in the store...
