  1. It's Brookside Golf Course, in Pasadena and is adjacent to the Rose Bowl. The reason you start the "back 9" on #7 is due to the course layout, to get from the starter to #10 is a long distance, probably 3/4 of a mile.
  2. "This is why we shouldn't let God punch the greens anymore"
  3. Nope, I walked past the people on #7, a twosome who had just tee'd off, so I was well ahead of them on #8. Anyway, looking back on it, I should have at least said something, it was crazy behavior.
  4. Nope, this is the other guy, older, grey-haired senior in a cart.
  5. The majority of my golf is played early on the backside of a local course near my work. They have two course and you either start on hole #10 or hole #7 depending on the course. It is busy so many times I'll walk to #8 to start, this is what I did today. @Lihu can attest to this. As I was on the tee, mind you, I was ON the tee, ball tee'd up club in hand when an older single rolled up to the forward tees right in front of me. This (older) gentleman is a very regular back 9 player who is there everyday I think. He knew I was there, but preceded to exit his cart, tee up a ball, go back to his cart and get his driver, and drove his ball out into the fairway. He then sped off to hit is second shot, driving right down the middle of the FW, preventing me from going over top of his ball. It all happened relatively fast and as I was deciding if and what I was going to say, he was already gone. I was not pleased to say the least. I wouldn't have minded if he was polite, asked if he could go first, etc. To not say anything was extremely rude. I didn't see him again until 4 holes later, so he must have bounced around a few others too. So what would you have done?
  6. Jacks, what a stupid idea, whoever originally suggested those in this thread should be banned for life. Now I do like the idea of electric actuators, controlled by a Raspberry Pi perhaps that can auto set any desired putting configuration. #envious
  7. This setup would be sweet, I like the effect the mirror has:
  8. As a user of both Game Golf and GolfShot, I was thinking what a simple enhancement would be that I would find very useful. As I select the course I'm going to play and if I have played it before, it would tell me my most problem holes, based on my averages. The other option would be add a flag on the screen to identify problem holes, maybe color coded. Red = Doubled Bogeyed last time Yellow = Average of Bogey You could also take it further by having it tell you the club most successful off the tee; Average with drive 4.3, Average with 3W 3.9, etc. They data is all there, I wonder if enhancements like these are on the radar? Thoughts? Brad
  9. Very well written and explained. I was watching a work related satire skit where people were giving requirements to a "line" expert, they were questioning why lines in triangle could not also be parallel, and his reply was "geometry", same thing here, why not? Mathematics. I think you should do this once a week with all the top teachers and their 5 minute instant fix ideas. Hank Haney next?
  10. I got a "sponsored by Oakey" box, shirt and shorts combo. I might cancel now as I have way too many shirts as it is and that is all they seem to be sending these days. It's nice stuff, but not monthly. I may ask if they have a quarterly option just to see.
  11. Ok, my final offer....LOL http://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Leg-Levelers-Small-Foot/dp/B0035Y5XUK These would attached to the outside of the frame and allow for easy adjustment via a long T-handled allen wrench. I'm sure they make longer ones as needed.
  12. So if I'm hearing you right, it sounds like you don't want jacks, got it.
  13. See if this helps (from the GG website): For example, let's say you are comparing yourself to a PGA Tour Pro for an 8-foot putt. The PGA Tour Pros average 1.5 strokes to hole out from 8 feet (approximately 50% 1-putt, 50% 2-putt, and virtually 0% 3-putt). Therefore, if you hole out the 8-foot putt, you GAIN 0.5 strokes compared to the Tour Pro. However, if you 2-putt the 8-foot putt, then you LOSE 0.5 strokes compared to the Tour Pro. So, over the number of holes you played, you averaged more 2-putts than compared to a scratch golfer's performance, to the tune of 12 holes in total (.5 per hole). At least that is how I read it.
  14. It's not a matter of begin weak, it comes down to function. Put level down, crank three times, boom, 3 degree slant. I could take the wheels off my pull cart and drag my bag around the course, I'm physically strong enough, but would I every day?
  15. Totally agree, this will become a pain and you will end up not doing it as often because of the time it takes. Jacks are a good option and could look very clean, not sure why you don't want to consider them. I would look to crowd source this baby, make something we can all drool over. Something that you could mount "inside" you frame, most of it becomes hidden under the plywood then, super simple adjusting.
  16. Ernest - when dealing with OPM (other people's money) the sky is the limit. Erik's old, we are looking out for his back.
  17. I agree, the one shown is rated at 2000 pounds so X4 = 8000 pounds total, How much does @iacas weigh???
  18. How about 4 trailer jacks, one in each corner, easy to adjust and would allow for uphill, downhill and left/right sloped. http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Jack/Pro-Series/PS1400300303.html?feed=npn&gclid=COrH1u_yi8wCFYqPfgodsHMLYg
  19. When in doubt, borrow an existing design: https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod7720007 http://www.theonlygreen.com/ Pretty simple in concept, you have a frame 17X5 or whatever with a default flat inner step which holds the plywood sections which the green this then laid upon. These plywood sections are not secured down and are adjusted by levers on the outside that raise up blocks to build height either on one side (for breaks) or both sides (for uphill/downhill) The second link has a video that shows it in action.
  20. I voted for the "do not care" as well. I agree for current players it would be a huge distraction and not much fun overall, even with their kids there. To me, it's not what The Masters is about.
  21. @boogielicious, thank you for the explaination, makes sense and seems like there are some ways to fairly implement it.
  22. Can someone who knows explain what "putting them on the clock" means in a golf tournament? I have seen it happen, but I don't understand how it's determined/enforced. Thanks!
  23. Recent article about slow play on the PGA. http://www.sbnation.com/golf/2016/3/29/11321418/billy-horschel-players-penalized-for-slow-play-jason-day-wgc-dell-match-play-2016?ref=yfp I understand routine is part of what makes these guys so good, but I also agree it's a bit out of control. If you think about youth wanting to emulate their idols, this could get bad on the local courses and tournaments. What are your thoughts? Should the slow play penalties be increase/enforced more often?
  24. Agreed, according to PGA.com, he weighs 195, that seems more like it. http://www.pgatour.com/players/player.28089.html
  25. Well, Day is taller, by 3 inches. I'm surprised by his weight, he looks like he weighs more than 165.
