The only thing that gets me annoyed is mental lapses, particularly over or under clubbing just grinds my gears quicker than anything else, there simply is no excuse for it other than not processing the situation properly and just numb minded actions. More often I hit the ball beautifully just to see it land 10 feet past the hole and roll off the back or for some stupid reason not take wind into account well enough and hit the middle of a false front and roll back 30 yards, I have no excuse for these types of mistakes since I laser the distance on every approach and that's why I get mad at this particular thing. Bad shots because of a bad swing are physical errors that can be improved upon over time.

My temper has improved significantly over the course of the last 5 years. I was never a yeller (OK, maybe I was), but I was a club-thrower, a complainer, an excuse-maker, etc... Some things have changed in my life off the course, and with some medication I have been on for a while, my entire attitude has shifted.

I'm still as passionate as I ever have been, but I am am much more cognizant of different aspects of golf (and life).

My wife is in management and her favorite quote is "Control the controllables, manage everything else."

We can't control everything in golf (especially an opponent's shot, quality of play), so just make a plan, execute that plan, review that plan when done, modify that plan, implement the modifications, etc...

For me, the big thing is eliminating the things I can control (3-putts, missed greens from within 60 yards, and eliminate all penalty strokes). If I do that, and shoot an 82 (net 70) and someone beats me, congratulations to them.

If I do start 3-putting, flubbing chips, etc... who am I going to get mad at? Of course only me, but what good would that do. Goes back to the old Bobby Jones quote: "Golf is played on a 5 1/2 inch course, the one between your ears."

    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • Hence your Avatar!😜 I drink a lot of water during the day if I’m playing or exercising. I get cramps otherwise.
    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
    • This isn't some kind of natural fact. It's a lot more complicated than this implies.
