Been fighting a slice with my driver for quite a while now. I've been sort of streaky: one week I'm hitting either straight to baby draws most of the time with a few misses right, the next I can't find the fairway no matter what I try. I've tried different things recently: handle forward, lateral shift, hip bump, "crushing the can with my left foot...not a single one worked. After a particularly bad outing this morning, I went to the range to try to work it out. After a few slices I started thinking about making an aggressive turn towards the target with my core. Basically the same feel as throwing a medicine ball sideways hard against a wall. No question, this is my key to starting the downswing. Basically I feel my core engage and pull hard towards the target. Not only did this drastically straighten out my ball flight, but it lets me "swing" almost as hard as I want. What I realized is that this probably doing the same thing for me that other triggers do for other people. When I actively engage my core to turn through the ball, I can feel the weight shift, I just don't have to think about.

I've had some pretty good days with the thought of just turning my chest to the target from the top. Once I get to the top everything else gets passive and I just turn my chest to the target as fast as I can.

Yours in earnest, Jason.
