Finally, once you're on the site, do a few things if you don't mind: Check your account settings. This is where you can clean up your signature.Edit your profile (to possibly include your GAME Golf account). Do this by clicking "Edit Profile" on your name in the top right corner of the site.Add or replace the cover photo on your profile. They're now Facebook-like dimensions. Change your avatar if it looks distorted, too.

Hey everybody.  My name is Chris and I'm glad to have found this site.  I have been golfing for a couple summers, but I really enjoy it.  I typically play 9 holes a couple times a week after work.  I mostly enjoy being outside and  the sunshine.  I also try and hit the range once a week.  Glad to be here and I look forward to what I find on this site!

The added CSS is just text, and no extra images are loaded, nor is any extra HTML. So no, it's not really significantly more text. A few kb, as in… 10 or 15. I don't know, @colin007: it's been quite fast here. Perhaps you have a caching issue, or a firewall issue or an issue with some scripting that's loaded from off-site or something. Some users have avatars from the old site that are quite large, too.
    • Gun Laws
      By iacas · Posted
The point is that it's an economic problem more than much of anything else: other countries have a lot of guns but not the inner-city issues we have, so the vast majority of murders with a gun that occur in the U.S. are inner-city related. Gun violence is not really a suburban problem. And Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. And all of the experts I've read on this topic talk about how CCW is not a problem, about how more armed citizens leads to safer citizens, how the vast majority of the problems are economic, and so on. I read a lot of stuff about this, yes ten years ago or so, but again, basically: Most of the gun violence issues stems from economic issues (inner-city stuff)More guns = safer citizens in other areas.Guns prevent or stop or minimize a LOT more crime than they "cause."I have not really talked about suicide much. I'm not citing a bunch of my evidence. I'm basing my opinion on a whole bunch of books and articles I read. Yes, ten years ago, but I'm not basing it on the results of a few Google searches and my own background. That's not to say that my opinion's better than anyone else's here - they're just opinions, all of them - but I'm pretty comfortable with the foundation upon which mine is based. I'm done talking about it too, though.
    • Does your Gap wedge match iron set or not?
      By PJCdude · Posted
The funny thing about the Top Flite XL set is that it goes from a 42* 9i to just one wedge which is 50*. I have used that as my GW while using 46,54 and 58 degree Cleveland Wedges. I'm actually dropping it this weekend and experimenting with a 4i. I think that fact that it is different than the rest of my wedges is why I really don't mind dropping it. My 54 is my 80 yds and in club and I love it, 58 is only for specialty shots and steep bunkers. A full PW is 115 and I'm decent at partial wedge shots so I don't think I'll miss the GW too much.

@Ringworld, what's your current handicap? (I think Mike is going to set the teams soon and will want to make them as even as possible) :)
    • How many fairway woods? Which ones and why?
      By PJCdude · Posted
I have an RBZ 3W but I only use it off the tee so I don't think you can really call it a "Fairway" wood in my hands. I used to have a 5W but the RBZ 3H goes further and has more manageable misses so that was a no brainer as my "longest off the turf club" (200-215 or so)
