My wife and I both compete at Trials; she's a 2-time New England Women's Class champ, and I carry an Expert plate. In college I raced MX and road bikes as well, and still keep a YZF in the garage to blast around on when I'm not hopping rocks on the trials bike.

Great sport, isn't it?

Hybrid: Wishon "321", 24*, MSF 85 HB, Winn DSI
Irons: Wishon 770CFE, Matrix Studio 74gm, Winn DSI

Putter: Odyssey DFX 2-Ball

Bag: Some big, honkin', ridiculous overkill of an Ogio cart bag with more pockets than I have teeth.

Hey hey, we've got the same bike! Awesome, aren't they? I must admit, after growing up racing nothing but 2-strokes I was hesitant at first to try a 4-banger. But they really are just as zippy as 2-strokes now, and GOBS of torque. Go, blue!

Trials riding really is an absolute blast. It's my favorite of all motorcycle events. So challenging! I've been doing it since I was a little kid (my dad was a factory racer for Bultaco). I'm really lucky to have met a girl who is nuts for the sport as well, but the garage sure gets crowded with all our bikes in there!

Keep yer feet up

oh definately one heck of a bike, loads of torque like you said. i like my four stroke a bunch, but i love two smokers too (we have a yz125 and 250). heck, ill enjoy any dirtbike, doesnt matter what kind. Factory rider for Bultaco? nice! and thats really cool that you found a wife that enjoys the sport

I've done a lot a trail riding. My brother still does motocross. The last time I've rode motocros bikes, it was on 125's. I took his CR450F for a ride. Talk about night and day differences between today's bikes and bikes from the 90's!

I used to race many moons ago. My son's been riding/racing for about five years. He's nine and rides a KX85. I've got a WR250F that's wanted to be a YZF since birth. Pipe, cam, no lights, plastic..... We used to go every weekend but he's into other activities now. We still ride, but not as much. On the up side I have time for golf again. It's been about nine years, do the math. Really looking forward to this season.

I love to ride! I raced my fourwheeler before but qut racing after I broke my sternum badly. Bought an RM250 and I like to woods ride and play in old strip mines and now I medic for a woods racing series. Check out the AWRCS page if you live in W. Pennsylvania or E. Ohio.

  • 3 weeks later...

Used to do it way back, late 60's and early 70's. Europeans dominated the pro ranks and in any serious international event it was rare for an American to even finish in the top 10. Roger DeCoster (I think that was his name) ruled the international scene. Huskys were the dominate bike along with Bultaco, Montessa and CZ. Once Honda intoduced the Elsinore and Yamaha came out with the YZ everything changed. A great sport for the young
