I've been watching this show for a few years now, and they are back with a new season on BBC America. Three of the luckiest TV show hosts in the world get to test drive the fastest, latest and greatest supercars. I just watched an episode that matched this insane Bugatti Veyron and a Royal Airforce jet in a race. The last episode I caught had the three hosts in three totally ridiculous race prepped cars (Aston Martin, Porsche, Lamborghini) in the hunt for the best public road for drivers in the world. Found in Davos Switzerland which ran to some city in the north of Italy. If you are a car fan and you haven't seen the show, do yourself a favor and check it out. There are full episodes on BBC America's site... http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/266/index.jsp

Yeah, that's another thing. Its not just straight stats and a test drive. They produce segments with humor and wit about them. Good stuff.

Top Gear really is the gold standard. Sometimes, I think they are less appreciative of the newer stuff but then maybe that is true. The modern cars probably lack character.

Richard Hammond is currently rumoured to be leaving, his reason being he is not being payed as much as Clarkson and James..... Although Clarkson does write the scripts of the show so its understandable he would get paid more, unsure of the reasoning behind James.

IMO the show would not be the same without hamster, and I would feel a slight empty hole every time I watched the show...... If you haven't guessed by now, I love Top Gear.

The BBC version is definitely better than the edited version on BBC America. The news segment (not shown in the US) is some of the funniest content in every episode. Go here:

and download the original. IMHO it's worth the time...

A great show, despite their harsh criticism towards all things American. Regardless, I still love the show. I wish I had BBC America here.

I thought I read recently where they were adapting this show for American TV, with American hosts and a more Detroit-friendly spin... I hope not, the cheeky British humor is the best part.

^^ I was half asleep this morning listening to Adam Carrola when I thought I heard him interviewing a host for "Top Gear." I can't see the American version holding a flame to the original. But, I'm sure I'll watch it. At least once.
