I have been checking out e-bay a good bit lately looking at a new set of irons, possibly. I was checking out Golfsmith online today, and got to looking at their clubmaking products.

How is the Snake Eyes brand? All of the reviews that I read were great, but I'm kind of skeptical. I mean... I could possibly build a new set of irons with these for a very good price.

Thanks in advance.

All of the reviews are dead on. Once you go snake eyes you never go back. I started with forged 675 irons and they were the best irons I have ever hit. The irons inspired me to get wedges which led me to driver, hybrid, 3 wood and putter. I am officially snake eyes from tee to green. This is not a material move, its simply a matter of quality. I feel strongly that snake eyes does not get enough credit on this forum and others for the quality brand it is...... Trust me,,,, just do it

Putter: Cleveland classic

Ball: Top Flite D2 feel

I agree 110% with pbillaa,

Snake Eyes products are better than the OEM stuff. It doesn't get enough credit because the prices are so cheap that it isn't believable. TRUST ME: It is the BEST stuff out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I have saved myself a ton of money building the clubs myself!

Looking at the new Golf Digest, the new stuff is absolute garbage, the stuff is terrible, on top of the ridiculous prices.

I play high school golf and see players have all the brand name crap and know that my stuff is 10X better than their garbage

You will LOVE all of their products: I recommend them to all my friends, but they all think I am full of myself LOL

I've ordered the Quick Strike Q4 (6-pw) hybrid irons and a couple of wedges, I'll pipe in when I've got them built and hit them some. I've been wanting to try SE out for a while and have decided to jump in. Everything I've heard is that they are quality.... jmoc

Appreciate the replies. I think I'm going to go Snake Eyes. The price coupled with what I am hearing from everyone makes for a good set of irons.

Now comes the task of convincing the Wife that I "need" them.

Got my SE Q4s back from the shop and they look sweeet. They are a "iron-hybrid" set like the Cleveland HiBore and XLi irons. I got two 655 black wedges (51* and 56*) and the SV1 Tour Putter also. We are in for a good stretch of weather in the 20's so it will be a while before they see combat. If they perform as well as they look and feel, Golfsmith will see more of my money. ... jmoc

I'm jealous of your new putter...

the putter looks great at address, I love the black matte finish. I've always wanted a black heel shafted blade putter. The face is cross scored. What really impressed me was the finish on the bottom, it's like a sheet of glass, highly polished

Well for starters, Snake Eyes wedges are forged. I have two of the heads that I haven't put together yet. I'm kind of being lazy about it. They look really nice...maybe a touch larger than Vokeys. Their sole is also larger than the Vokeys. If the SE wedges are anything like my other forged wedge in terms of feel, they're staying in the bag. I'm not so sure about spin, but I've heard good things. Vokeys are probably spinnier though.

I have never hit Cleveland wedges, so no help there.
