i live just north of Pittsburgh PA and around here the weather is always changing. there are points where it rains a lot whichi causes the fairways to soften up a lot. we also have times of no rain for 2 maybe 3 weeks at a time, which causes the fairways to harden up.

wedges with higher bounce would be ideal for the softer fairways while wedges with less bounce would be better for the firmer fariways. considering the very different weather conditions that could occur at any time, id figure id go with standard bounce for my wedges. i want the cleveland cg 14 wedges so im thinking of going with the 54.12 and 58.12.

is my thinking correct with going with standard bounce or am i missing something?

Yeah, that's what I did because the courses I play all vary in condition. 54.12 is standard, but I think 58.12 is considered high bounce according to Vokey. I just looked at the Cleveland website, it's odd that 58.12 is standard bounce for CG-14s but high bounce for Vokeys.

Standard bounce should cover most of your situations.

All of my wedges have 12. They work greaty from hardpan to soft sand. If it's so muddy out you find your wedges digging in, welcome to Pittsburgh!

How far north of the city are you? Where do you usually play?

How'd the Steelers do this year?

i live about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh in Cranberry Twp. i usually play at Strawberry Ridge or Hartmanns Deep Valley which are about 8-10 miles north of Cranberry in Harmony.

dont quote me on this, but im pretty sure the Steelers did well this season... unless u live under a rock, i think u catch my drift

I play golf in the Midwest, where it's soft all spring and rock hard late summer and fall. Anywhere from 10*-14* of bounce should work great, it does for me anyway.

no wonder im having trouble off the tightly mowed fairways around here...

im about to get a new 54* and 58* wedge combo... i plan to get at least 10* bounce on the 54* but the lowest possible one i can on the 58*....
