I have a lineup of Vokey wedges right now, but I am getting a set of Mizuno irons and I've been looking at some Mizzy wedges as well, for more of a matching look and feel.

The look is obviously different, but how much of a difference will I notice in feel? Any opinions from anyone on the quality of Mizuno wedges when compared to Vokey's?

Looks like you're switching everything from Mizuno to Titleist! See I love Titleist woods, and I'm a fan of some of their irons but I've never really came to embrace a full bag of Titleist, other than it looks cool. I like the Vokey's, I haven't played enough with them yet to know if I love them, I just got a good deal and couldn't pass it up. I played a buddy's SM Vokey last season after I bent the shaft in my Cleveland and stuck all my wedges that day, so if I'm lucky I'll have the same luck with my new sticks. Just wondering how the Mizuno wedges compare, feel-wise mostly.

I am now playing MP-60 irons and bought Mizuno wedges to fill the gaps. I play a 51* 'gap wedge' that is MP-T and a 56* 'sand wedge' that is an MP-R (both in Chrome to match set). I found the shape of the R model to be better as SW, but liked the shape of T better as GW. I really like the feel of them. It's a little different feel than the Vokey's or Clevelands - they do have more of a feeling similar to the irons - very solid. On the negative/positive side, they do spin less than either model I previously owned (Vokey Spin Mill and Cleveland CG14), but they do still have enough to get the ball to stop quickly with a little check.

To me, they felt a bit better on flush hits than the Vokeys. The Vokeys IMO felt better when I was swinging though. I felt like I could really feel where the club head was better than the Mizzys. The other thing that I've heard is that the Mizzys are inconsistent in terms of spin on chips/pitches. I'm not sure how true it is because I only hit them at a range and not around the greens. I have my doubts though that Mizuno would make a club that is inconsistent. I think you'd be fine going with either club.

I used to play Vokeys, but switched to Mizuno wedges last year and I have no regrets.
The Mizunos are superior to Vokeys in every aspect except for spin. Mizuno's grooves arent as aggressive as SM Vokeys.
In terms of feel though, there is no comparison. The Mizunos are that much better. Mizuno's wedges are forged, whereas Vokeys are cast.
Apparently, Bob Vokey doesnt think that the difference in feel from cast to forged matters in wedges. Personally, I dont agree.

I dont have a problem with spin being inconsistent. Im playing cheap distance balls that dont spin like crazy to begin with and on solid wedge shots I get enough spin to make the ball land, take a hop or 2 and stop dead.

I have a MP-R 51* mizzy wedge and love it, that said you really do need to hit the middle, I from time to time have a problem hitting to far towards the toe, and the ball looses massive distance, about 50%. I have found that the ball spins well, one hop stop rather than coming back a couple of metres with the Volkeys. As for feel i think Mizzy's are better if you find the middle, and its good to get feedback when you miss the middle, but the loss of distance isn't good.

To the OP, you may be aware of this review, but I thought I'd post it anyway. It kinda compares the MP-Ts to the old spin mill Vokeys.

http://thesandtrap.com/clubs/mizuno_...s_wedge_review

I'm thinking about adding a MP-T GW myself. Losing 50% of my distance on toe hits kinda scares me though. I got fed up with hitting my 250.08 too far. I should have had it bent weaker, but instead I just put in the old MP14 50* pw for the time being. I cant decide between a MX25 GW or the MP-T. I ordered a MX25 from Callaway preowned and it showed up in way better shape than they stated...except Fedex broke the shaft clean in half.

I play Mizuno irons and Vokey wedges simply because I've grown accustom to the outcome I get with each. My only caution would be, if you're solid from 100 yards in there shouldn't be a reason to change. Plus if you take the money you saved from buying new wedges you can surely improve your short game on the range with quite a few buckets of balls and maybe even a lesson or two.

I play MP-T 51, 56, 60.

I like them better than Vokeys but would say they both are of the same caliber. All in what you like.

The only difference I really feel is on full shots. The MP-R that I have really feels like the Mizuno irons. Impact seems to last a little longer and the ball "sticks" to the club face and you can feel it compress, just like Mizuno irons. I really like my Vokey wedges though. They feel great on chip shots, nice and solid.

Never played vokes on the course but i love my mizunos. I enjoy the feel and the spin control. I think vokey's would be a bit too 'spinny' for me. I like my wedges to either bounce and few times and check or punch and run them out...

I believe the Titleist Vokey Spin Milled wedges will spin slightly more than the Mizuno MP-R. I recall Golf Magazine did some testing with some lob wedges including Nike, Taylormade and few other companies. I'll have to dig it up.

I play 3 Mizuno MP-R wedges (50° Gap, 54° Sand, 58° Lob) which tie in nicely with my MX-25 irons. I did however have the Gap Wedge bent to 50° as it was originally at 52°. The only downside is that I'm now wishing I had a little more bounce in that wedge. The MP-R are quality wedges. They featured milled grooves, however I don't think they are as aggressive as the Vokey Spin Milled grooves. I'm a 30 handicapper and even I can make balls check with these wedges. I had previously played with the regular Titleist Vokey wedges and compared to the MP-Rs they seemed "clickier" if that is a word, whereas the MP-Rs felt a touch softer. I've never heard any criticism about their inconsistency until now. On the contrary, I find them to be very consistent.

I feel the best attribute to these wedges is the tour inspired "Workshop Grind" Sole which allows one to open the face and play some fun shots. The designers have done a great job providing relief in specific areas of the sole.

I too shoot for a specific make & model when buying wedges. I don't like the mixing and matching of wedges of from different OEMs as I feel it makes hitting shots more difficult as you are moving from wedge to wedge. Just trying to make the game as easy as I can and shoot lower scores.

I used Cleveland RTG wedges for a long time and switched to Mizuno approx 2 years ago. The Mizunos are defs softer and seem to spin a bit more. I've never played Vokeys, but hear that they spin more, but feel a little bit harder than Mizuno. I love my Mizuno wedges.

    • Wordle 1,013 4/6* ⬛🟦🟦⬛⬛ ⬛🟦⬛🟦🟦 🟧⬛🟧🟧🟧 🟧🟧🟧🟧🟧 par is good after a double bogey yesterday.
    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
