Come in and talk about the bliss that only scotch can give :)

To me nothing on earth compares to sitting on my deck, nice sunny day. Glass of good scotch, and a good cigar after work.

List your favorites

Glenfiddich any year, 30 is amazing. Pricey but good.
Glenmarangie 10, just seems to be very clean tasting.
Speyside, limited experience with it but always taste good.
Glenlivet 18 has to be one of my all time Fav's

Too many to do more than a cursory list......and like good wines, single malt scotches are all distinctive with their own individual personalities.

Ardbeg and Bowmore are long time favorites from Islay. Much more drinkable than the over-iodine Laphroaig to my taste.

I also like the Glenmorangie in various finishes as well as the Oban 14 yr for a Highland.

....and of course, you can't think Speyside without mentioning Aberlour and Macallan. Macallan 12 yr may represent the best bang for the buck available in premium scotch.

We'll talk cigars later...........

I was more of a Highland's man- The Macallan's 18 was always my favorite. For an Islay, it's hard to beat Lagavulin.
YMMV.

God i always forget Oban, I had a bottle of it last year it didnt last long.

I've only had Macallans once, its hard to find resturaunts about here with a good selection of scotch. I hate to buy a bottle of stuff on a whim.

Sunday, my cousins birthday. We went and played 18, oddly enough i bought him a bottle of glenlivet 18 it got stuffed in his bag. Needless to say I shot pourly, but it was a fun 18 holes :)

Prior to this stupid smoking ban I really wanted to open a "upper" scale Scotch/Whiskey/Cigar bar. But now to smoke in a business here your tobacco sales have to be 75% of your income... Iowa is really going to hell.

Seems appropriate as I sit here with a (large!) glass of Glenmorangie 10 yr. Not a fan of Highland whisky generally but I like the Glenmorangie 10; very clean.

Personal favourite: Ardbeg 17yr. Awesome. Got lucky - the Mrs. bought 6 bottles a while back (not sure you can get it now except via eBay etc) which means I get one for my birthday each year

Other than that, I like all the other Islay malts.

Of others I really rate the Highland Park whiskies; very nice. Jura's good too. Springbank (from Campbelltown in Kintyre) is excellent.

If I win our Lottery I'll be spending some of it on wine and whisky.

Incidentally, what's a good bourbon?? All we really get over here is Jack Daniels or Jim Beam; I'd like to try something else.

Slàinte!

My favorite scotch isn't scotch at all. It is Middleton Irish whiskey. Try it and you too may become a convert.

I love Irish whiskeys, but if you make a thread about whiskey everyone comes in and talks about the 3 variations of jack daniels, or makers mark.

The only thing i can drink American whiskeys with is coke/pepsi. I've never had one that tasted good by its self. Jameson 18 is my stuff, tallumore dew is great for cheap stuff.

Surprisingly, here in Frednecksburg, VA, we have a newly opened pub in town which has quite the scotch collection. I'm a beer drinker and they have a pretty good selection of those as well. The best thing is that they have these samplers that let you sample various beers/scotchs before buying a full pint. Here's the link in case you're interested

Fredericksburg Pub ... I'd be interested in what you Scotch drinkers think of the selections. And I forgot to mention that the waiters wear kilts and the waitresses wear, well I'm sure they're not called mini-skirts, but they are certainly mini and skirtish...

Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to...

Haha, sounds awesome. We have 2 place that are rather nice.
Becketts Pub, great food, awesome scotch list but their pricey. have a scotch club im about half way through it

Accross the street a Asian Fusion resteraunt Jiamen, odly enough a VAST beer collection, alot of stuff you cant find in stores. Gulden Drakk is one of my new favorites. Nothingn will replace my love for guiness.

We have a place called tilted kilt, some sort of chain with a bunch of nasty looking chicks with very little clothing, beer sucks, foods worse, but hey less trouble than a strip club.

*Ninja edit- Ok there are like 5 good looking girls out of the 30-40 that work there. But regardless food sucks, cant pour a guiness to save their lives...

Picked up a bottle of Glenfiddich 18 last night, cant wait to consume it.

Also picked up some CAO Mx2 cigars, my favorites.

I fully intend on sitting on my porch friday night drinking my awesome scotch and smoking my awesome cigars and getting awesomely intoxicated and chip balls at my neighbors house at 2 am.
