Lately I've been trying to ease up on my swings and as a result I've been releasing early. As a quick fix, I've been sliding my hips forward so I can have the face square at impact. I'm fighting a pull hook from time to time. Are there any drills to help me with this?

I fight the same thing. I do 2 things that seem to help me. One my coach told me one just helps with my tempo

1. Move your right foot back so that your toe is in line with the middle of your left foot. That will promote an inside swing path (hits a nice draw)

2. I pause my hands/arms at the top of my swing. When I get too fast I come over the top. When I pause my hands/arms my hips get going first and then my upper body plays catch up. Little bit of a block ever once in a while but that's better than the darn pull hook

Maybe one of those or both would help you

I'll test out #1 at the range and see if it helps. #2 might be tough for me since if I pause I lose my tempo. Will have to try and see what happens on a slow backswing.

I am suffering from an early release as well. Right now im working on turning my back to the target, and then rotating through to get my chest to the target. My coach always says it...Back to the target, chest to the target.

Good luck dude!
