How to setup a video camera to record a golf swing?

Thread Starter

Can anyone point me to some good instruction as to how to set up a camcorder/tripod to properly record a golf swing? Both positioning of the camera and shutter speed as well as other camera settings would be appreciated.

Googling for this information is a bit frustrating as all of the results tend to be golf instruction accompanied by videos rather than instructions on how to record the video properly.

The best I've been able to find is this http://www.pennypulzgolf.com/golfvid...lf_swings.html

Thanks in advance.

Record it from down the line and front view. Position the camera at waist height so far back that you just get the entire swing, including the club at all positions. How many settings do you have on your camera? Some have a sports setting for quick action.

Should it be aligned to your feet or the ball?

From DTL (behind you) you want to center the camera on your toe line. Use the search bar on this forum and you'll find a great article on how to set up and film your swing properly. Also includes advice on cameras and settings.

I'd link it for you but I'm on an iPhone.
