I need a new glove. Before I go out and spend $10-$20 on a new one, I want to know what the longest lasting one is that you guys have used. I have a FJ Sciflex right now, and it does not last at all. After a few rounds with it I could already see the the glove peeling at the bottom right part of my palm, and on my thumb. I have a light grip too.

I take it off after almost every shot and leave it off for chipping and putting. When Im done with my round it hangs in the air on my bag. Every time it just gets significantly crustier after a round.

What glove can I get for a decent price in most pro shops that will last me long and can give good feel?

The Footjoy Weather Soft will last quite a long time but the feel of it is crap. If the feel doesn't really matter to you this is good, long, lasting glove. I use the Sta-Soft and have never torn one. The feel is excellent and it last a while for me. I don't play as much as most people though.

I have found the best way to keep a glove fresh is to buy two or three and rotate them each hole. If you go through one a month, it might take you four or five months to go through the three. When you are able to let glove air out completley before putting it on again, they won't get the hard, crusty feeling. You can get any glove style you like, and if you get two or three, they will all last longer than if you just got one.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I used to play a Stasof but I cant remember if the durability of them. I also have the golf pride new decade grips so the cord kind of rubs on them and wears them out even more

. I started using an old glove for just the range too, that might help. Ill check out the weather soft and see how it feels before I buy. Thanks

Forgot to mention that. Use an old (or at least separate glove for the range) and your good gloves will last longer. I get three new gloves every year and the ones from the prior year get used at the range.

I find that the FJ Weather Sof and Callaway Warbird both last a long time. They don't have the same feel as fresh real Cabretta leather glove, but I find that over time they give better service and don't dry out like a leather glove.

I do find that on really hot days they can swell and fit loose, I think I'll try a smaller size for hot days to see if it fits OK once it gets sweaty.

I had a callaway glove once. It lasted long but I hated the feel. Might as well wear a winter glove. I'll try the Weather Soft and the StaSof when I golf next and see the difference.

It's weird but I have used the FootJoy Rain-Grip sometimes during good weather. It seems to be about 10 times more durable than a normal glove.

The first time I used it was because my normal glove was completely worn out, and I had no other gloves in my bag other than a Rain-Grip. I ended up using it for a few weeks, mainly because I was too lazy to buy a new normal glove and also because it was working fine. It looks weird, and it definitely doesn't feel great, but it will last a really long time.

I've had my best luck with the Titleist Perma-Soft glove in terms of fit and longevity.

lol I noticed that too. Once I played with both on during dry weather and I was hitting everything pure. For some reason the way the gloves made my grip move had me making perfect contact and a smooth swing. Especially with my driver.

That glove looks really nice as well. One thing I always loved about the Titleist glove is that you can get it in all white which looks very nice.

One thing that helps my gloves stay usable longer is a plastic 'glove keeper'. Something on the order of the photo attached. I have a couple of these and they help. I got mine at a golf store, but no doubt available in many places. Maybe $3 or so.

I've always used the FJ WeatherSof (I think thats the model.. it costs like $9 or something). I use one for the range and one on the course. I'm going to estimate that the range glove lasts for at least 4000 balls and even more practice swings. Seems like a lot doesnt it? I estimate 4k balls because i've gone to the range almost everynight for the past two months and hit anywhere between 100-200 balls each time.
so thats probably a minimum of 4000 balls and my glove still hasnt peeled or torn or gotten crusty at all. I've never had a "good" glove though so i don't know about the feel quality or anything of that sort.

I find Titleist gloves seem to last forever, I've been using the same one for months, practice and play. I think it's the fact that they're leather which doesn't seem to wear as much as other materials. I've also found that black gloves last longer than the white ones. It's probably just because the dirt doesn't show up so they seem newer all the time but whenever I've used white gloves they don't last long before I replace them.

ive been known to run thru some gloves...
im using 2 pairs of fj's a callaway and a nike glove...
my fave was the nike but its falling apart pretty quick...
the callaway seems to last long... but doesnt feel right... like thick
the footjoys are coming apart on the cuff area but as for feel... they definately feel the best when i keep them dry and not soaked with sweat... but they feel the thinnest...
my brothers wear bionics... i cant see myself spending that much money for a glove and it seems to last about the same as cheaper gloves

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
