I just started playing a couple months ago. A buddy had loaned me a set of old titliest irons that I simply could not hit. The guy whom I play with agreed they were a tough club to hit. That got me to looking for me a set of clubs. I found a steal on a 13 piece set of the Adams A30S clubs. It comes with a driver, 3 w, 5 w, 3-S irons and putter. What is everyone's opinion? I did hit a friend's (adams 7 iron) but it was not specifically the A30S. They should be here today. Can't wait to unpack them and head to the course for a quick 9. Anyway, would everyone agree these are a good starter set??

Adams is a good name for one if you want to go off brand. Anything that gets you into this beautiful game is a good start. Note that now that you paid for your first full set this should be the first and only time you really ever have to buy everything at once. now you can just upgrade one thing at a time (buy irons, then driver, then 3 wood. not set in that order though) due to the fact that you get used to your woods and irons as a whole why change it all at once? change say your driver later down the road make that the only club until you get the feeling that you are hitting it to your standards. then change another part of your bag. This is just a thought of what is recomended by most but it is still your choice. don't get mad if you can't hit your new clubs as well as you think you can. You just have to grow to playing them.

Great beginner set in my opinion. I picked up the 3 (19*) and 4 (22*) A3os hybrids to help me get some consistency from my "long irons"

Went out yesterday and shot a quick 9. Shot 44, tying my best score. Missed 4 putts over 8' by 2 inches or less so it coulda been a really good day. Had one double and NO three putts!!! My distance was off a lil with the new clubs but I struck the ball pretty well. Headed off to my first lesson today.

I played a set of Adams Idea irons for 4 years up until about 2 months ago. I absolutely think you went a good set to get started. I am not usually an integrated set kind of guy but its a good way to get all your equipment at once.

Speedline 9032ti 14.5* Hybrid

Adams an off brand? So nice of you to crawl out from under your rock and join us. How long have you been under there anyway? A long time I bet.

My father who has been playing golf for 50 years plays a set and likes them.

First Id like to say I think you chose an excellent set. I actually play the standard A3 irons and love them. Stick with the practice and lessons, you will get there soon enough. I have dropped about 10 strokes off my game in 2009.

and what do you mean, Adams an off brand? Thats a strange comment

Driver: D2 - 10.5° - Fujikura Rombax 5X07

Adams is the most played hybrid on the tour.

Adams was a sponser of Big Break Prince edward island.

Adams was only in the Super Game improvement business for a while, but have stepped up there game and are now making a full range of clubs.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

I've played the 13 piece A30S set for almost 2 months. Compared to the iron only set you get a gap wedge which I have found surprisingly useful. The driver is actually pretty good and replaced my Taylor Made R5. The only clubs that didn't exceed my expectations were the fairway woods. They were consistently 5-10 yards shorter than my Nike SQ's. Other than that it's a great "bang for your buck" set that won't disappoint.

Women's A30S Integrated Set (Driver, Irons, Bag)
Fairway Woods: SQ 3,5
Wedge: cg14 60 degree
Putter: Always changing
Ball: Ladies or ProV1Cart: 2.0

Well, as it turns out, my grip was pretty far off base. Had a really good lesson, went to the range and played 9 after that. Did not score well but I really wasn't even keeping track. More than score, I wanted to take the new grip through a quick 9. Hit some great shot but still a LONG way to go. Going to the range for a couple buckets tomorrow. I'm trying to get it burned into my muscle memory fairly quickly while it's still fresh on my mind.

i have a set of adams gt2 irons, 3w,5w, idea hybrid 3 &4 - gt2 driver. I can crush the fairway woods and the driver isnt bad, however Im going to upgrade the driver this year and probably the irons-fairway woods in the future. The hybrids are here to stay though! I used to get teased by a fellow golfer that adams are for old folks, i just laugh at him when i hit the 3w 250 yds

you are reading that the wrong way friend. so as soon as your done being a **** read it again. someone else I think is under this rock he speaks of. now let me make it clear. I did in no way ever say if you want to go

FOR A off brand. I said if you want to go off brand. yes there is a difference. A off brand would be going for something not normal going off brand would be intailed going off a lable. or going by a name. so before you run your mouth like that read it twice you may learn something

Oh, I get what you are saying now. purchasing based on brand name instead of purchasing a smaller brand (ala Off Brand)

To be honest the way you said it, I thought you meant that you thought Adams was an off brand as well.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

Easy there big fella... your wording was DEFINATELY a little confusing.

Adams makes great clubs... I didn't go looking for them when I bought my irons, but after hitting them and looking at them I could not get away from them despite trying to find something else I liked better that wasn't Adams. Now they even make some bad-ass looking blades... I will always consider them when looking at new clubs now.
My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

no you don't Adams is a mainline brand. Adams is well used on the tour. It may not be as popular as Callaway, Nike, Titleist, Ping, but I assure you it's a major brand. They are best known for Hybrids and claim to be the number 1 hybrid on tour.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)
