I received my R7 Draw Driver last week, and I took it out on the course on Saturday morning. I didn't have time to take it to the driving range first, so I just let it eat right out of the package.

There isn't a lot to say at this point, except for the fact it's the best driver I've ever hit. I have never hit a driver so far and straight in my golfing career.

As the name mentions, the draw driver is supposed to help golfers who fade the ball a little more than they like (or a slice in most cases). I hit the ball naturally from left to right, but I have had the tendency to slice my other driver (Titleist 905) most of the time. That wasn't the case at all with the R7 Draw. I either hit the ball dead straight or 5-10 yards left of target. It worked out perfectly.

I have to add in the amazing distance as well. I typically hit the ball 240 or 250. With the R7 Draw, I easily averaged over 270. I'll just give one example and then leave it at that.

The 18th is a 510-yard par 5. I had about 170 yards to the green after my drive, which obviously means I hit the drive about 340 yards. I didn't hit all of the drives that far, but I did hit a few over 300 yards. That's unheard of for my golf game.

I'll have a full review up in a couple months, but I wanted to let everyone know that this driver is awesome!

BTW

It's easier to see the "cut out portion" in the image of the women's version:

Interesting early review of the R7... I was at a golf shop tonight looking at irons and my buddy has been looking for a new driver.. I almost had him talked into a Titleist, until he hit a used R7 they had there.. The dude working swore by the R7 as the end all be all best club ever. He said the sweet spot of my buddies Callaway Hawkeye was about half as big as a dime. (bout the size of the end of a pen's cap.) He said the same for my Titleist 935k driver.... I kind of think he was pulling a BS to try and sell the club myself, although my buddy did hit the crap out of the R7. His Hawkeye was averaging about 266yds and the R7 was averaging about 277. Not sure if he was swinging harder or not, but thats the observation i was making... I think my buddy is sold on the R7 now.. They're about $299 new on Ebay if anyone is looking..

Looking forward to your 1-3 month review!

There are several models of r7 driver... so in the future, clarity would be helpful when telling such tales.

Cody's review will be out between August 18 and the end of the month, roughly.

Sorry, It was quite a ramble when I finally looked at what i wrote

My buddy was hitting just the stiff shafted 460, not the Quad, or the D/N.

Just got this driver last week and hit it twice so far at the range and let me say it works, stopped my wicked slice completely. I've hit so far two previous Pinemeadows, Top Flite, TM R5 and the Nike Sasquatch drivers and this one works for me. I now feel confident in hitting the middle of the fariway at every tee. God bless the draw drivers.

p.s. If anyone picks up the upcoming MacTec NVG2 Draw driver coming out in March 1, 2007 please drop a review since I was originally going to get last year's version before i got the TM.
In my Viper by Hippo Golf stand bag:
Driver: Cleveland HiBore 10.5° Fujikara reg. flex
Woods: 3- MacGregor NVG2 Fujikara reg. flex
Hybrids: 3 & 4-Taylor Made Rescue Mid
Irons: Titleist 775.cb w/Graphite Shafts (5-GW)Wedges: Cleveland 588 Tour Action SW & 60° lob Putter: Taylor Made Monza...
