I got this idea from this piece .

Here's what the U.S. Team should do:
1) Divide Tiger Woods' point totals so that he occupies their spots. He has enough points, even when divided up, to move Vaughn Taylor, JJ Henry, Zach Johnson, and Brett Wetterich out of the team.
2) Choose two good captains picks. Let Tiger play the singles matches against four opponents simultaneously (and all of the four-ball and alternate shot events alone).
3) Win!

Isn't the Ryder Cup great..???

I love it, will be taking the Monday morning off work so I can watch it through the night. I still find it remarkable that we get ourselves up for it so well that it levels the playing field.

In the last 2 the US team player for player has been better, and yet we still managed to win....GO EUROPE..!!!!

Just to clarify, I'm an ex-pat Englishman living in New Zealand

I'm glad Tiger is playing well going into the '06 Ryder Cup. For all of his accomplishments, he's stunk it up in the R.C. over the years (5-8-2). Lets hope this is the year he leads the team to a W.

This is true. But I'd ratehr he didn't play well...!!!

In fact I'd rather see Lehman pair him up with Phil again..!!! 'Cos that worked so well last time...did you see the look Tiger gave him in the foursomes when he carved that drive nearly out of bounds?? Gold..!!!!

Tiger's record isn't the greatest indicator of how he has performed. He's been good in Ryder Cups... but until Jim Furyk came along, nobody could really play "with" him in four-balls and alternate shot.

And yeah, the Phil pairing was absolutely stupid.

I think that it's hard for Tiger to get exicted about the Ryder Cup. I know he wants to represent his country and do well, but what records is he chasing? He doesn't have a lot of motivation to play well.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that DiMarco would be a great partner for Tiger?

Fairways and Greens.

I think DiMarco and Furyk can be interchanged when it comes to the Ryder Cup. I look at both guys the same in the team format. They are both straight off the tee, and both can putt lights out.

DiMarco would be good for Tiger, but he is better for Phil it seems. I say keep DiMarco with Phil and keep Furyk with Tiger. But either way, those four should be playing together in some form or fashion (besides Lefty/Tiger of course).

    • Day 5- Slow,  short swings with short practice club.
    • Lemme guess….’ We don’t want any confrontation so nobody says anything.’ Sheesh…..Call him out and fix the problem.
    • Went to a PING fitting day today. Going to be ordering a G430 Max 3w with a 75g x-stiff shaft at 5w length and a 3h. I forget what my fitter did with the shaft on that but she told me she’s going to email the club the specs of everything. The 3w combination we found pretty quickly. As for the hybrid, we tried a bunch of different head and shaft combinations for that distance with mixed results. Then she handed me the 3h and I took three swings with it and knew it was the one.
    • Yeah, this isn't sandbagging. It's outright cheating. He should be banned.
    • That’s quite a generalization. It’s clear that you don’t like water but there are plenty of us that drink it just fine. My daily intake is usually about 20oz of black coffee, 16oz of soda, 8oz of milk mixed into a protein shake, and anywhere between 30-60oz of water. It doesn’t even need to be cold and I kind of prefer it closer to room temperature than cold. I quite like the taste of tap water, with sole exception being the tap water at Magic Kingdom (it’s terrible). I can’t stand when people bring me tap water with a lemon wedge in it. I didn’t ask for lemon in my water.
