I'm looking for something along the lines of 52,56, and 60 degree lofts. Which clubs will give me the most spin, durability, and cost efficiency? I've had my eye on some Vokeys just to keep it in the family (my irons are Titlelists), but I'd have no problem looking at any other brands.
In the bag:
983k 9.5° YS-6 graphite shaft driver
F Speed LD Mens 3 Wood 15.5° Graphite Design Tour AD YS Stiff
2H 18° Baffler Pro with Fukijura Speeder Stiff Graphite Shaft
3H 20° Baffler Pro DCi irons 4-PW + S Rosa putter

Nothing beats Vokey's, IMO, although I do have a Scratch 60* (For $40 used, looking brand new, I couldn't pass it up). Right now I my wedges are:

(loft.bounce)

52.08
56.12
60.06

With full, 3/4, and 1/2 swings, these cover me for every yardgage from 92 yards down to 25 without even thinking about it - get the number, make the swing.

That being said, I've been thinking of ways to get my 4-wood (Tour Edge Exotics 16.5*) into the bag, and I'm considering swithcing to a 53/58 wedge setup this year.

I think the close range shots are too important to your score to try to throw in an extra wood. Something you may want to try is go to your range and see if there is an iron in your bag you just don't hit well that can overlap some distance. You might be able to do something along the lines of exchanging your six for your 4 wood.

Just looked at the Eidolons and I'd have to pass. The leading edge is too rounded for my tastes.

I think the X-Tour wedges are a real good deal right now. 1020 forged, satin or vintage, MD Grooves, PM grind option. My vintage 54/60PM are buttery smooth, softer than any of the cast wedges, including Cleveland and Vokey. Note that if you are used to Clevelands, these will feel a little light. I was having problems, then added some lead tape and all is well in the universe. Also, since they are forged, they can be readily bent to your liking.

I really wanted Vokeys...but just do not play enough to spend $125 per wedge at this point. I ended up going with the Nike SV Tour wedges and have been very happy with what I have seen so far. A lot cheaper as well. Got the 52 and 56, both brand new shipped to my house for $65.

Where did you get that deal new? On most sites I see them for that price each.

Titleist Vokeys are extremely good wedges, I used to have a 60° Cleveland and decided to switch for a Vokey 60-08... It is without doubt the best club in my bag, I have a slow swing and the ball still spins a lot, enough to stop on a dime.
I ordered a new Vokey 54-04 last week, I´m planning to take my X-18 sand wedge out of my bag.

In My Bag:

Driver: Titleist 910D2 9.5º Regular
Irons: 4-SW Taylor Made Burner, Regular Graphite
Wedges: 60°-08 Titleist Vokey

Fairway Wood: 16º 3W Taylor Made R9 Stiff

Hybrid: Adams A4OS 19° Regular

Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Newport 2

I have the Cleveland CG15 and it's unfair the amount of spin they put on the ball. Vokey's are also fabulous wedges. If you are wanting to stay in the titleist family, going with the Vokey's are a VERY good choice. If you are willing to shop around, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the CG15's (they are also faily priced).

vokeys are very very good clubs. I find the old school vokeys and the newer spin milled are weighted differently to I would suggest try before buy.

Cleveland had really cut prices on its remaining CG12 stocks. The 52* somewhat hard to find, but 56* and 60* lofts are plentiful. Some at $69. Also:
* Other upper-end wedges from about three years back are coming down in price too. Hard to keep track of all the $$ cuts.
* Two players who bought the Adams Tom Watson 3-wedge pack (down to about $100) seem to really like them.

Focus, connect and follow through!
