I was watching the eurpean tour golf earlier and they showed alot of sergio and his swings,

did anyone else notice that move he makes as he gets to the top of his backswing, he barely hinges his wrists at all going back but when te dowsing begins he makes so much lag almost like ben hogan

I think a few players do the same in theory, tiger and jb holmes come to mind. Sergio just has a particular hitch to his move.

If normal people achieved the lag that Sergio does we would tear evey ligament in our thumb, wrist and forearms.

What makes his wrists and forarms so special? If he can do it we should be able to do it, he is human you know

I used to use a D3, but then switched the Ping for about 2 weeks, ditched it, and now im gaming a D2. So Im back to 100% brand, baby.

Practically an unnatural amount of flexibillity in his wrists and forearms. I honestly think he is going to have arthritis or severe tendonitis his lower arms when he gets older.

I first saw Garcia's swing when he was an amateur at 19? He had *more* lag then. You're seeing the less extreme version.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Not really.

It is fairly easy to do. Really all it takes is a little lagging club head takeaway (basically the hands pull back before the club moves) and attempt to keep very loose hands and wrists (but tight fingers of course or the club goes flying) up to the top. Once at the top allow the hip bump to create an insane amount of lag and do not fight it. Then just keep your core sliding and turning like crazy and your right shoulder going down as much as you can until you hit the ball. Until your body runs out of steam and it can no longer slide, drive, turn anymore then lag will remain or actually increase. As soon as your body starts the quit though you better hope you are almost to impact because that club is coming forward and there is nothing you can do to stop it from flipping your wrists. I think damn near anyone can create as much lag as he does at the top with a little bit of practice. Now sustaining it as LONG as he does and releasing it as late as he does is pretty difficult.

I don't know how you could have much more lag.  The driver is basically laying on his back during the transition to the down swing.  Insane!

The plane angle makes it look like there's more lag there than there really is. He still has a lot, don't get me wrong, but the plane angle exaggerates it.

Sergio is the opposite of what I call 'the old man' golf swing.  The swing where it is all arms with no lag created.  People make it work, but man, it is ugly as hell.  Makes you look like a goof.

Whatever he's doing it's working.....as of late. But I think the big thing that is helping him lately is doing his own numbers.

R11s driver

R11 3 wood

Glide sole design 5 wood

Cleveland CG16 irons

Vokey SM4 48*, Vokey SM4 52*, Vokey SM4 56* wedges

Yes! Eleanor putter
