hello all! just sayin hello from München! visited Dachau, home of a concentration camp where 204,000 jews and others were interned, and some 31,000 registered murders took place during world war two. what a humbling experience... there are a few pictures below, im sure somewhere someone will find these graphic, so do be aware of that, but i think everyone needs a reality check now and then.. It was a pretty crummy day, but i feel that was all for the better given what took place there...

Here is the entrance where thousands of people walked before to a completely different fate.. The director of the camp said, "You will be free in a spiritual sense, not in a physical sence."

"Work will make you free"

Every dot there is a form of a concentration camp...

The main walkway

guard posts everywhere..

each one is where a barrack once stood, at one time, there were 34 of them for experimentation for the Luftwaffe and housing.

Here is the crematorium

this is the derobing room, where they were told they were taking a shower and were then led into the "showers"

Labled as "showers"

you can see some eyebolts in the ceiling, they used these to hang people before they cremated them. I counted at least 15.

Here are two of the four ovens..

on a small path behind the crematorium you find these..

This is the wall where they executed people by shooting them in the back of the neck. The wall is about 100 feet long.. if you look closely you can see bullet holes at varying heights depending on how tall the person was...

here you can see the blood ditch..

I saw the Neuchswanstein castle, this was truely the prettiest part of Germany i had seen yet, a shame such things took place here..

the really odd part is that if you walk out the gate and down the road for 2 minutes, you are on a street of shops, and ten minutes away by car you are in downtown. There are people whose houses can see the inside of the camp..

Just thought i would share with you all, i know i certainly have a ton of motivation after today.

a few more..

here is the "shower" you can see the vents in the roof and where the showers/gas came from..

this is the body room...

here was the museum, in what used to be god knows what... the main room in there was a shower room, it was massive, and also had eye bolts in the rafters, these were used for punishment, not murder. If someones bed was not made correctly or some similar crime (none of which were at all big things done wrong) they would tie the persons hands behind their back, they would then run a rope up to the rafters and hang them from their hands through the rafters... this would dislocate both of their arms. The minimum time for hanging was one hour.

Man, talk about sombering photos...
I think human are the cruelest of all animals. To think that someone can kill/torture others for no apparent reason, it's just shameful.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Those are pretty interesting. To know what was going through Hitler's mind... That's to know what Hell is like. The interesting thing about that is it really gives you perspective on how reality is percieved by people.
