thoughts on r9 supertri

i will be recieveing a r9 supertri very soon and i was wondering what you guys thought about it. I have hit it at my golf shop like three times and i was hitting 230 to 250 consistantly i love the driver but give me your thoughts thank u

I had one for a while and liked it. First off, it's one of the baddest looking drivers on the market IMHO. I liked the feel and the sound at impact, but I ultimately traded it in towards a Ping G15, because it worked better for me and also I didn't really need the adjustability. I think it's a great club and you'll enjoy hitting it. I liked it more than the original R9.... maybe it was the larger clubhead.

I would not worry about what we think about the driver, it's what "you" think about it.

I personally did not like it, felt no were near as good as past taylormade drivers and did not sound as good. On the + side it is a very nice looking driver.

agree x2. I was hoping to like the R9, but the feel and sound wasn't as solid as other TM drivers (510tp, r7tp) I like.

I picked an R9 Supertri up about a month and a half ago, and I'm glad I did. I switched from a Burner '08. I picked up another 10 yards on average, and around 1 or 2 more fairways per round. I like the adjustable options. I set mine up closed which I find more consistent and lets me play a nice little draw. For me, the ball just comes off the face very nice. I wish I was able to hit multiple shafts in it before purchasing, but I have no complaints about the Stock Motore Shaft. As others have mentioned, the club looks very nice; however, I get white marks on the bottom of the club very easily (I assume its from my tee, although I use colored plastic 3prong tees), but that is just me being picky about my club not being spotless.

Enjoy the new club, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Got it, great driver. Actually picked it up used and pristine condition without the headcover and wrench for $230 when I cracked the face on my other driver. It came set up open and I thought I needed to change it, but it actually shrank my dispersion pattern.

This thing is long and straight. My only complaint would be that sometimes it's too straight and doesn't work the ball as far as I would plan for, but that just takes time for me to adjust.

Said it in the last super-tri thread.... Its the only driver i have hit that i like better than my 905R, and that's saying a lot...

Longer and straighter for me.

I am in love with this driver L O V E love, Straightest driver I have ever hit, longest driver I have hit, Tried Titleist 909 and Nike Str8 and this consistently out performed for me.

Like mine so far; I also replaced a burner. I was hoping for a little more distance but that will probably come with time as my swing gets better! Looks bad-ass as others have said and I like the sound a feel.

I hit an 8.5 degree SuperTri w/ Fujikura Motore F1 S shaft in a fitting recently. It was one of the clubs that was a good match for me. I almost bought it, but went for a Titleist 909D3 w/ Blueboard 73 S shaft instead. But that all dark color was pretty sharp. The balls would leave a mark on the face so you could see where you hit it. Felt pretty solid overall imo. Shots just seemed to be nothing but straight and long.

      I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

      If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
