"Try" both and see which one works best for you. Typically speaking square drivers offer a little more forgiveness if that is what you want. Back when I bought I square driver I got rid of it after less than 2 months of using it. I bought a "regular" headed driver and worked on learning how to hit it. I wanted to learn to work the ball etc so that's what worked for me.
Hit as many as you can, figure out what you want out of the driver and go from there.

Just dont buy one of those Nike things that sound like a 10 car crash.

If the Nike's a 10 car crash, the Cleveland Monster must be a 20 truck pile up.

The straightest drives I ever hit were with a Nike Sumo2 5900. Yes the sound was obnoxious but the ball was going straight and far.

In the blue Colts bag:

Driver - FT-5 10°
Hybrids - 4DX 15.5°, 20°
Irons/Wedges - CI-7 4-GW, SW | "Free" Warrior 60° LWPutter - TiffanyBalls - various

I did that... and when I had it, it was an ok driver, not the best I've hit, not the worst... Personally though, I never could stand the look or sound of it, and eventually sold it and replaced it with my current driver with a more traditional head (Callaway X460 Tour)

20 truck pile up? is that all?

I can´t bring my driver to the range, I hit 2 drives with the rocks there and the noise off it is just scary. It´s not too bad on the course though.

I wouldn't buy a square driver because of the sound. I wouldn't feel comfortable practicing with it on the range, knowing it'd distract other folks.

Even if it was 15 yards further and you hit every fairway with it?

Square drivers stay a bit stabler in the swing and produce a higher launch because the weight is positioned on the back corners.

I have not heard one of those yet. That damn Nike should be outlawed, or they should at least issue a box of those foam earplugs with the driver so the guy can hand them out to everyone within 2 fairways.

I've played the Nike one's... they go high and straight which is just fine for me. it helped gain my confidence back after battling a slice for a while.

the sound is what it is. you can't control the sound and if it yields the results you want then go for it. you game is more important than someone elses preference.

I play on public courses all over the chicago area. constantly hearing planes, trains and automobiles. if all I heard was a loud driver a couple times a round, I would be ecstatic.

Try the Tour Edge XLD. It's got a pentagon shape for forgiveness and it's got a pretty decent sound.

Nike sounds fine to me....should hear the Wilson Staff Spine....I swear to god, it sounds like a frying pan...I sold it because it was embarrassing to use it when everyone at the range is like WTF is that?

I have the Callaway FT-iQ and hated it at first. The first time I used one I was visiting home and borrowed my dad's. The look really bugged me, and I wasn't too crazy about the sound (it's not all that loud, just sounds sort of like a cow bell). I hit it well, though, and then he gave me one as a gift. At that point I was still not sold on it, but I hit it pretty well and after a few months of using it, the appearance has grown on me. I'd say try them, and be sure you really evaluate how you hit it, not just how you think you hit it. If you get good results, you will learn to overcome a bit of initial wariness.

In the bag:
FT-iQ 10° driver, FT 21° neutral 3H
T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW
Harmonized 52° GW, Tom Watson 56° SW, X-Forged Vintage 60° LW
White Hot XG #1 Putter, 33"
