I know this is a simple question and probably a really dumb one but I am going on Feb 4th to be fitted for the R11.  I am going to Golf Galaxy btw.  Anyway I was wondering do they give you the headcovers for the clubs you purchase as well?  Ive never actually purchased clubs in a store before.  I usually go look and try them and find a deal online for them.  Since this will be my first driver fitting I am going to purchase the R11 at the store so the fitting is free.  I guess since the headcovers are easily steal-able if they were on the clubs that are on display they are put in the back or something but I dont think Ive ever seen anyone walking out with a club with a headcover.  So do they give them to you?

Yes, you will get a headcover with the R11. All top end drivers/woods and even most low-end ones come with them these days. Same story with almost all putters.

I don't understand how someone who enjoys golf enough to join a website like this doesn't know the answer to that question...

Having never purchased clubs from a store before (as he stated) how would he know?  The headcovers are never on the clubs when they are on display....  I guarantee not every driver at my local Golfsmith has a head cover.  Most of em, sure.  But don't beat the guy up when he's been strictly an online shopper.  If you insist, take him and his 20 cap on in a nice Nassau.   ;)

Well it must be a joy to know the answer to everything...care to tell me what its like???

How is it so unbelievable?  When I go to golf galaxy its either to purchase balls, clothing or have my clubs regripped.  I never ever purchase clubs there because 99.9% of the time you can find a better deal online for the same exact club.  Ive already gone and tried a few clubs I had intentions to buy but never had the intentions of buying them there.  Im sorry I dont follow the other people around on their purchases to see if they receive headcovers or not.  I assumed the answer was yes and already stated it was a dumb question in the original post but I just wanted to be 100% sure instead of 99%.  Is that such a horrible thing?  An even better idea would be for you to just not respond.  What I dont understand is someone who gets on message boards/forums and clicks on topics and dislikes the question or thinks its dumb and needs to voice his opinion of such.  Do you know how many people care that you dont care?  Count them on your left hand and you still have four fingers left.  NO ONE cares besides you guy.

Now that thats out of the way thank you for answering my insanely stupid question Elvisliveson.  I assumed the answer was yes but it was just something that I was like Hey Ive never actually seen someone make that purchase there so I was just reassuring myself.

. . . How is it so unbelievable?

Back in my day (when cement was still being mixed inside a pellican's mouth) you didn't necessarily get wood covers for free. Woods are more fragile now, and the woodcover is like free advertising, but mostly, the cost is already included in the price. Trust me, it is.

The GG shops normally store the OEM head covers in the back area. Once you buy the club, they bring you the head cover.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

  • 2 years later...

I was actually wondering about this myself. I bought a set of Adams Golf Tight Lies (my first set ever) that came with covers, but wasn't sure if golf clubs normally purchases on line or at the store come with them. Since i just bought some hybrids online, I'd be correct to assume that i won't need to purchase covers?

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
