I am in the process of working on more of a S and T or Foleyish swing with more shoulder tilt, more weight on front foot, etc.  I have only been able to work on it inside since theres more than a foot of snow outside, but i think it will work out well.

Is there any reason with this new move that my left (front) upper hip/lower side area seems to hurt?  There is a lot of pressure in that area during the swing so i think i might be doing something a little off.

Now once the snow clears i plan to get a new video up, but does this sound familiar to anyone?  what are some things with a S and T ish swing that can cause this?

You could try opening your feet up if you haven't already. However, I haven't really run into this problem, so I can't be of much help.

There shouldn't be any difference in hip stress with S&T versus any other swing.  Sounds like it's your hip flexor or outer ab area from your description.  Have you been shoveling a lot of snow lately (I have)?  You may have stressed the area during other activity and feel it when you swing.  Try ice and stretching to relieve the pain.

I have this pain not from SnT, but well before because one leg is a tad shorter than another and I aggravated it with long distance running, tennis, golf, etc..  But not during playing, after and only if I over do it in terms of activity.

The soreness is from the side of my back, i think it might be called the back joint and then around and down towards the hip.  I think it has something to do with doing something incorrectly while bending over more and turning with my weight forward.  i guess ill figure it out though.  i just wanted to see if it was anything common when making this type of adjustment.  thanks

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
