I have been out to the Williams/Target World Challenge five of the past six years and collected a few hats with eight to ten player autographs on each. Players like Singh, Daly, Couples, Di Marco, O’Merra, Harrington, Furyk and others have signed hats for me. I gave one to my son and now have three hats I was thinking of selling on e-bay.

Sadly, I am neither a hot chick or a young kid so I’ve never been able to get Tiger to sign one.

I also have several signed full page photos in a couple of programs. If anyone has purchased or sold something like this, any advice would be appreciated.

I dont know a whole lot about what something like that would be worth, it pretty much depends on whose looking at it.

I do think though, that a certificate of authenticity does alot to help sell items with signatures. There are alot of scheming people out there that sell stuff claiming its authentic, when its really its nothing more than a bogus forgery.

Lasltly, its would probably depend how much signed memorabilia is out there at that time. The less there is, the more desirable it will be.

Hope that helps!

A COA is pretty much worthless. I bought a couple of signed sports items years ago that had a "COA" and upon close examination it was clear they were forgeries.

Most of the COAs offered on-line are printed on some guy’s computer. A COA is just a piece of paper that says the item is genuine and anyone can make one up.

I have the pairing guide from the event inside the hats and my Grounds Pass from the event. Anyone can compare these signatures to a known sample and they will match up.

I guess I'll put them on e-bay and see what happens.

Thanks,

I will never sell this autograph as I only get from those I who respect. I got Ernie Els, Wiratchant, Jaidee autograph during Singapore Open, these autograph might not worth alot but it sure has value for me.

I got Dimarco's autograph at the Memorial 2 weeks after he screwed me on my fantasy golf team. Cost me a trip to Hawaii. (espn 2005) I was in 4th place, top 4 went to Hawaii for 5 nights at the Ritz Carlton, tickets to the Mercedes Benz tournament and a chance to win a Benz. I chose him as one of my top guys and he missed the cut! I finished 20th overall.
When I got him to sign I wanted badly to tell him how he screwd me but I let him off the hook. Just happy he signed for me.

Get em next year!

Hard to tell what autographs are "worth" per se. Not to be flip, but they are generally worth whatever someone pays for them. You might want to do a google search on PSA. They are a trading card grading service that has expanded to autograph authentication, thereby making an "authenicated" autograph much more valuable to those in the know.

Not sure how one authenticates ten autographs on a hat. Anyway, maybe I'll put on e-bay just to see what I can get. The grounds pass and hat together cost me $50, + mileage and a day off work, so I'd have to get $250 or more to let one go.

I've seen plenty of autographed items, some questionable, selling for that much, and more. Some autographs do not stand up to even casual scrutiny, but people buy them. I'll put close up photos on-line so people can compare them to known "good" ones if they choose. I have no fear of scrutiny because these are 100% legit.

I met a guy at Sherwood who got Tiger to sign a book about him (I forget which one) and he sold it for $1,100. If someone wants to make money faking autographs, why fake ten of various odd pros when one decent ”Tiger Woods” can sell for hundreds more?

Set a reserve of what it's worth to you and if it sells it sells and if it doesn't then no loss.
