I got a new bag at the end of last year and its already falling apart, the zipper is broke and one of the straps is ripped.  This time I want to get one that will actually last, I am hoping to only spend $80-100 and am willing to buy online.

Any suggestions? I think I want a carry bag but it would be nice if the stand was able to come off of the bag.  I am thinking about getting a pull cart and its hard to get stand bags in them sometimes.

I just got a Nike Sasquatch Tour bag for $102.00 shipped off of Ebay.  It was used but in fantastic condition, and it fits perfectly on a cart.

The Nike Sasquatch Tour looks pretty nice but I am looking for something about 20 bucks cheaper.  Around $80 would be perfect, I checked craigslist and everything on there pretty much sucked.

Ill check out some bags at dicks sporting goods tomorrow.

That might be a tough price point to meet.  Prior to getting the Sasquatch I'd been bag shopping for a few months.  I recall seeing some Slazenger stand bags at Dicks Sports that were under $100.  I just did a quick search and found them on Dicks' website, but they have dismal reviews and apparently fall apart quickly.

I'll second the above concern regarding price point.  The fact is if you want quality you're going to pay for it.  The best reviews I hear regarding stand bags seems to always be about Ping's Hoofer line, but new that will set you back about $200.  Buying used is a great alternative, but you've got to take your time in order to find the best deal.  I've got an Ogio Grom that I bought new ($200), but I've had a few issues with it.  I accidentally caught my foot on one of the stand legs and it snapped right off.  Since the bag was under a year old they replaced it free of charge, but I did have to pay to ship the bag back to them (about $30).  Since I've gone to using a push cart for my bag there seems to be less wear and tear on it, so I assume I'll get a lot more use out of the bag as opposed to when I was carrying it.

I really lucked out with that one since it was used, but in great condition (better condition than the bag I was using previously).  New Sasquatch bags seem to go for right around $130-$140 shipped on Ebay.  In fact, here is a Sasquatch on Amazon that is $139.00 with free shipping.  I really don't mean to seem like I'm a salesman for Nike or anything.  The only reason I gravitate towards it is because it's not the current model of stand bag from Nike.  The 2011 Nike Performance Carry bag is the newest bag they offer, but for the life of me I can't figure out what the difference is between the Performance Carry and the Sasquatch Tour...other than $50.00.

Now, I chose the Sasquatch because I wanted 14 full length dividers for my clubs.  If that's not a needed feature for you, you can probably find something just a little cheaper in good used condition on Ebay, but not much.

There's a saying that my dad lives by, and I kick myself all the time for not living by it as well.  "Buy cheap, buy twice."  I fully understand that money is tight (I've got Excel open in another window and am finagling with my budget as we speak trying to figure out how to afford gas, golf, and rent and still have enough for food), but consider the the golf bag as an investment.  Spend $30 a year on bags that you aren't ever fully satisfied with, or spend $150-ish on a quality bag that you like and will last for several seasons.

I picked up an Ogio (I can't remember the model) 2 seasons ago for $130 at Dicks and it has held up great.  The only downside is the legs don't open like they did when it was new.  I don't know if anyone is making those retractable legs any better than another.  Other than that, it has all the storage I need, it's light and works great.

if you're thinking of getting a cart i would just get a lightweight cart bag.  no need to fool around with legs if you don't need them IMO.

Just found another bag.  Nike Xtreme Sport III, which appears to be similar to the Sasquatch/Performance Carry except it is an 8-way divider, only 3 of which are full length.  Still looks like a pretty nice bag, though.  Price is $89.99, and Fedex Ground shipping to Exton, PA would be $10.72, so you're looking at $100.71 shipped.  Again, to stress, I'm not a salesman for Nike.  Like I said earlier, I've been searching for a new bag myself, and Amazon.com thinks I'm still in the market for one so it keeps suggesting them to me, lol.  Anyway, the link is below if you want to check it out.
