Hi everyone,

I want to buy a new putter and came across the "Black Series". Has anyone tested them allready? I like the look of #1, but it is so expensive... 299€!

My personal preference is still Studio Style Newport 2 compared to Black Series. Scotty is slightly more expensive than black...

Both great putters. I don't change my putter for a long time so I guess I would rather get a good one that I really like before I get one.

I hit them a couple of different times at the local golf shops and thought that they were really nice putters, had a great feel to them. It is expensive, but if you like the putter, it is worth it considering since it is the club you use most often, just make sure you get fitted to get the right length.

Also take a look at the Ping Redwood line, I also liked this club at the store.

Got a putter fitting today and the one i bought is the Odyssey XG White Hot #9. Not the amazing look of a scotty or black series but better price and much better results for my strange way of putting

Odyssey XG's are good putters for the price. Gives a nice "click" when hit well. The grips are nice as well in my opinion. Head a little light for my taste... I don't know if #9 is heavier than the #3 I tried... Overall a great putter.

The feeling of the Black Series is awesome, but i tested them with some older lake balls (the ones i use on the round ) and i dont like that feeling so much. I think you should play a high quality ball with the BS and thats sth i dont do.

XG #9 is heavier in the head. It is a toe weighted blade / mallet mix, and good for my hand position (slight forward press)

I putted around with one in a golf shop so I didn't get to see it roll on real greens but the feel was pretty awesome. Still, at $285 (that's how much this one was) I would think it's going to be hard for them being generally about the same price as a Cameron.

    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
    • This isn't some kind of natural fact. It's a lot more complicated than this implies.
