I used to play quite a bit when I was in high school about 10 years ago and recently moved into a subdivision with a golf course so I have caught the bug again and have started to get back into the game.  The few rounds I played in the past few weeks didn't go too well as I expected so I decided to take some lessons with hopes of improving enough to enjoy the game a little more.  The first lesson was Saturday morning and I think it went quite well.

The instructor took one look at the grips on my irons, Titleist DCI's, and immediately gave me a homework assignment to get them re-gripped before our next lesson.

He also told me the driver I had in my bag was all wrong.  It was a Nike SQ 8.5° with stiff flex.  Right now I have what I assume to be a fairly slow swing.  He said that was way too little loft and way too stiff for me and highly recommended picking up another driver.

After the lesson I want to a local pro shop to irons re-gripped and see what they had in the used driver department.  I ended up getting an Adams F11 10.5° Draw with regular flex which was still new.  This leads to my question.

What exactly is the difference in a driver with draw and without?  Should this effect how I hit the driver?

I had been consistently slicing the Nike driver and the salesman at the pro shop said the Adams driver with draw would help that.

I am not sure if this new driver is actually right for me or not but I got what I think was a great deal on it at $80.  I guess they were just trying to get rid of it with it being a model from a previous season and still unsold.

I have only hit the new driver in the store and it felt good, hopefully that will translate when I get to the range this evening.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this new toy,

Tyler
